We were staying in prospect house - opened in Jan this year - and part of the empire. Shambolic. Had checked re parking before I arrived. Complete disaster and not as described on the phone and the young receptionist was out of her depth sorting it - expecting us to wait, and being a bit snappy. Overall the place is... more

We just spent two nights at the St Petroc's, first in the St Issey and then in the St Wenn room, with the switch agreed in advance at the time of booking. Both rooms are comfortable, with nice bathrooms and good colour schemes, but they suffer from noise problems from the corridor, and from various external factors including gulls, the... more

Just back from a few nights in Devon and Cornwall including one night at St Petroc's. Very friendly welcome and nice (if a little small) room. Had tapas in garden and a couple of drinks there but didn't eat at the Bistro as neglected to book in advance and they were fully booked. Free parking near hotel a bonus and... more

My wife and I recently stayed at Rick Stein's St.Petroc Hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel was small and charming, the room was nicely done and very comfortable, and the overall level of service was excellent. We ate in the Bistro at the hotel on one night, and then for my birthday we ate at the main restaurant.... more

We have just returned from a weekend stay at St Petroc's that I had booked 3 months in advance. The room we had been allocated was tiny (for a double) and very noisy. It had a kitchen extractor fan outside and as the headboard was by the corridor, we heard all movents of the neighbours, including their shower. On arriving,... more

My husband and I stayed at St Petroc's in the St Wenn room for five days, along with our two dogs. The room was very clean, large and comfortable and our dogs were welcomed with their own water dish and a fleecy blanket each. Bathroom was a good size, clean and modern with Molton Brown toiletries. The room was a... more

My wife and spent a weekend in Padstow in mid May and stayed at Prospect House, which is to the rear of St Petrocs. Prospect House has been recently re-furbished and contains 4 rooms ... alll fitted out to a very high standard. St Petrocs / Prospect House is part of Rick Steins growing conglomerate in Padstow ... I cannot... more

Rather than staying in St Petroc's Hotel, we were actually staying in Bryn Cottage - a cosy one bedroom fisherman's cottage owned by the Stein Empire in Padstow. But it's a stone's throw from the St Petroc's Hotel where we had our breakfast each morning. We were on our honeymoon and although pricey, Bryn Cottage was one of the most... more

We threw ourselves into the whole 'Steins' experience and it was worth every penny. The hotel had lots of character and we stayed in the Estuary room as it was dog friendly. The initial welcome for us and our dogs was great, and this set the standard for the hospitality throughout our stay. We had a table reserved at the... more

Have tried "The Seafood Restaurant" before so thought we'd try one of the other Stein offerings in Padstow , St Petrocs. Charming staff but possibly the smallest table in the most cramped room anywere! Menu was quite short and nothing particularly appealed so we quizzed the waitress for inspiration. Asking if the prawns were local she said no, they're from... more
