After sifting through the Wadi Musa recommendations we were left with the Al Anbat 1. Very disappointing, even with lowered expectations ready and waiting! We had a rental car so weren't bothered with the distance away from Petra (5 km), but the staff had given our room away! Even after many emails in the month before coming (they wanted an... more

Not really a place to be advised to your friends. I got a single room with halfboard for 40JD (drinks excluded from dinner). The room could also be considered acceptable (a basic one, anyway). But the staff at the reception didn't act so fairly. Bad comprehension of english. No availability in helping you for arranging taxi. Misleading information. And at... more

We are actually in the hotel at the moment .It is far out of the centre of town. It is expensive (60 JD per night). The reception staff are indifferent. The room's OK, but a bit run down. The hotel's prices for things like soft drinks (2JD) are high. They even charge 4 JD for a map of Petra that... more

This hotel was recommended to us by the Mariam in Madaba. The price we paid was higher than what is published in the Lonely Planet: double was 25JD with additional 10JD for full board. (buffet) Professional and accomodating staff here at the Al-Anbat I. (Anbat II is in town) We needed a doctor (non-emergency) and it took only 10 minutes... more

Not the best hotel in the world but not the worst either, and heh, this is the Middle East so unless you stay in one of the 5 star western hotels you can't expect the comfort levels of Europe or USA. Our rooom on 4th floor was very nice, but apparently they get worse as you go down, so avoid... more

Just want to make sure its clear, because tis obscure in the Lonely Planet guide. There are two Al Anbats - one in the middle of town (which I believe is lower-end) and one a bit out of Wadi Musa, which is a bit "nicer" - I stayed at the one outside of town, and if I had to to... more

The fridge didn't work, the remote to the TV didn't work, the TV barely worked, the AC didn't work, the water had one temp if you wanted water pressure, boiling, if you didn't want any water pressure at all you got ice cold water, the toilet sprayed water everywhere when you flushed, the plaster on the walls was pealing, there... more

The Hotel was o.k. except that our room was freezing cold due to the cold nights in April in Wadi Musa. Breakfast and Dinner were good. The shuttle bus infact works only in the morning. If you want to go back take a taxi (2JD). The lunch packages for Petra were excelent. Enough food and a good combination of two... more

First room I got was on the 1st floor, which looks like a 1 star place. Asked for a room with a balcony, which I got, on the much nicer 2nd floor. The rooms are huge, but a bit faded. The views are excellent though and the included breakfast and dinner are fine. It's pretty fair from Petra (don't try... more

We booked in advance thinking that finding a place to stay in Wadi Musa in April would be difficult, it isn't. Anyway we ended up paying 35 JD per night ( too much ) and the location really leaves you separated from any choice for restaraunts or the town itself. The rooms were large and clean and the balcony had... more
