We stayed at the Golden Tulip Kings way during our visit to Petra and we had a terrible experience. I booked the hotel on Expedia and it was suppost to be a 4 starts hotel and it is not even a 2 start.s The rooms are dirty, the carpet had huge nasty stains, the elevator smells terrible and the breakfast... more

On a private guided journey I stayed in this hotel. As a woman alone you should not stay in this hotel. During my dinner the restaurantmanager was trying to catch my attention all the time, touching me several times and after 10 minutes he ask to marry me. We stayed at the Golden Tulip, King’s Way in Wadi Musa, for two nights in January 2008, and I honestly would NOT recommend it! The hotel is located right at the entrance of a small village (Wadi Musa)5-10 minutes with a taxi from Petra. There is nothing close by, even the mini-market is about 5 minutes walking. The Golden Tulip was the only hotel that we could get a reservation during the month of Ramadan. It is apparent why. Overpriced for the quality (at $145 USD), an anemic and tasteless buffet breakfast, and no internet service (due to the hotel’s not paying their bill—as stated when trying to connect to the internet) left lots to be desired.... more
