My friend and I decided to use the one night package she bought at a travel show last year. The package included a one night stay at the 'resort', a hydrotherapy bath and a 30 minute swedish massage. Although the staff were very friendly, the property is a run down tiki themed motel. The outdoor halls had random couches outside... more

The pictures on the hotel's website and on hotels.com are very misleading. Don't be fooled. We were't expecting 5 star, but it was awful. When we arrived the front desk gave us access cards to someone else's room and we walked in on a family. Some security huh? When we finally got out room, the access card would only work... more

Total misrepresentation! From their website you would think this is a newly remodeled resort and spa where one could relax. What is offered is a rundown, low budget motel with lots of problems. I found no relaxation here. This place needs a major remodel. It's a dump. Check in was inefficient. I could tell right from the start the customer... more

The La Toscana has been purchased by new owners and is now called the Hotel Shilla - the new owners have spent considerable funds on the property including fixing the walkways, new air conditioners, painting the rooms and removing the old balcony carpets and replacing them... - our bar is now open as well and the Spa has been redone...

We like to support underdogs, and we gave this hotel lots of latitude. The staff is very friendly and tries hard and we wish them great success. However...the rooms are a strange mixture of nice, rather elegant furniture and items in need of cleaning or repair. Bedspreads are stained; paint is peeling; refrigerators don't work. Whenever we brought a problem... more

I was "suckered" into buyng a "romantic weekend" getaway for two package at a home show held at the Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim Ca. I paid $139.00 for a 1 day 1 night lovers package. I did not think this was a rip off price since Desert Hot Springs is only a 2 hour drive from Anahiem. The brochure that... more

The hotel needs major renovation before accepting guests. The carpet was dirty and worn, plaster exposed, walls needing paint, outside back stairs dangerous, graffeti on the back outside walls etc. Our key rarely worked and even after three different keys, we realized that the problem was in the door mechanism. The microwave did not work so a smaller one was... more

The saying goes “Never judge a book by its cover”. I say never judge a hotel by it’s website. I made the terrible mistake of booking this hotel solely based on the website and the pictures on it. Though La Toscana’s Management lacks in every aspect of hotel management, they have done an excellent job in marketing the place. For... more

Our church group spent the night at the La Toscana this past President's Day weekend. We were a group of about 40, including about 5 children. With the group rate we were able to get, my family of 4 stayed in a double queen room for $69 a night. After reading some of the earlier Tripadvisor reviews, we had steeled... more

Okay, they had my booking, BUT, they needed a 100 dollar deposit, which has been debited from my account TWICE and not returned. Also, a deposit for what, there was not even a remote in the room for the TV, which had a grand total of 20 channels. For a king size suite room, no trash can, we took our... more

I stayed here in November with my two children while visiting my girlfriend. I wanted someplace close to her and this ended up being two blocks away, so that part was perfect. After reading reviews on this site I was pretty scared about staying here. One thing I will say to travelers is that if you do not like the... more
