We stayed here to do a college visit to UCLA. It was a short trip to UCLA. Room was nice, staff was very friendly. Breakfast bar was good with eggs, sausage, bacon, an above average breakfast bar. Parking was just fine. Room was clean, linens nice. They are having some construction and staff wanted to find us a room away... more
Stayed here 3 nights in March 2008. Room was clean and comfortable, excellent bed and lots of pillows, large refrigerator. Continental breakfast was ample, dining area is outdoors so plan on taking back to your room if weather is less than ideal. The hotel is right next to the 405, our room was at the opposite end from the freeway... more
Stayed there for a week in December. Place is what the below reviews have said. It's a outdoor hotel with an outdoor Continental breakfast. Rooms are small, but updated and bed is comfortable. Overall its clean. You pay for convenience here. I had to be on Wilshire Blvd every day for business so convenience was important. Traffic is terrible in... more
I was a bit disappointed when I arrived because the public areas such as elevator lobby, stairs, were kind of old. But after entering the room I was relieved to find that everything was in good order and it was obvious that the room had been renovated. The beds were very comfortable with nice white sheets and 4 fluffy pillows... more
We stayed in this hotel, just off the 405, for 4 nights. It was very clean and our room was very nicely decorated. Noise was not a problem at all. The location was excellent - 10 mins on the bus to the pier, or 5 mins on the bus to Century City. Getting to Universal was easy too. The taxi... more
Stayed a full week on business. Ok, here is the review: 1) Rooms are tight. I guess they could be classified as "cozy" or small depending on your perspective. They are clean however with new carpet, furniture, beds, etc... 2) If you are on vacation, you are very well located, near all the action, the beach, Pacific Coast Highway, etc...... more
As anyone visiting L.A. has discovered, hotel prices can be outrageous to almost insane. That's especially true on the Westside. Having said that, there is one option that is actually a gem in the rough--Holiday Inn Express West Los Angeles. The West Los Angeles location is ideally located on Santa Monica Blvd and the infamous I-405 freeway. It's the perfect... more
This hotel was remarkably convenient. It's just off the 405, so getting there was a snap. UCLA is about 10-15 minutes away, depending on where you're going. (Driving, not walking.) Despite being just off the freeway, noise was no problem. I think it's double-glazed, and the aircon covers the little sound that gets through. I was pleasantly surprised by the... more
We stayed here for a week, and have stayed at dozens of Holiday Inn Expresses around the country. Rooms are pretty clean, though the housekeeping staff can be a bit overzealous in trying to get into your room. The WiFi network is not great in all rooms, but works if you bring your laptop out into the courtyard (which can... more
