We have been driving for like 7 hours, so, we thought it would be better to rest and go to Vegas the next morning, but, we should have gone straight there, or to the next city, Parhump. The lady at the office wasn't of the most friendly people I've met, and you have to ask her for ice, and only... more

Small dingy room. Junk on motel lot. $84 is a lot of money for this level of room. more

There were two of us and we wanted two beds. So, we reserved one of the larger rooms in the older section. On a first look, we thought the place was going to be OK. We were wrong. In this case, older does not mean charming. It means we paid $89 plus tax for a real dump. Let me start... more

Booking the Shoshone Inn started off well. On the advice of a previous reviewer I called directly. The woman I spoke to was extremely friendly and gave me the name of the person I would be checking in with. Unfortunately a fire on the I15 stopped us in our tracks so we spent the night in a Days Inn en... more

Shoshone is a small town (population 70) on the SE tip of the Death Valley National Park. The rooms at the Shoshone Inn may be basic and a little worn, but most importantly they are clean. Our room (26) had a small kitchenette with hot plate, fridge & microwave. This is a classic US Motel, just like one sees in... more

I too was afraid of what I would find after reading some reviews. However, I found the Shoshone Inn clean, very simple and to the point -- 1950's style. We had a "courtyard" room with a kitchenette which included a fridge, sink, hotplate and microwave. The staff was helpful and attentive and always gave us more towels when we requested... more

This hotel was well worth the stop over before the next day's trip to Death Valley. The room was well appointed with no fridge or phone. There was a firebox for heat and television. The more important feature was the hot spa pool about 1/4 mile away. The restaurant across the street had good food and great service. The museum... more

At the end of a long day in Mojave, we arrived in this little village just outside Death Valley. From the outside we were a bit scarred of the place, but it was either here or sleep in the car – not advisable on a cold night. So here it was and US $63 later, I have to say that... more

My husband and I enjoyed our one-night stay at the Shoshone Inn. We had been told it was a dump and were therefore pleased to find it plain, clean, and simple--not at all a dump, but just very, very basic. We were warm and slept well. A feature we very much enjoyed was the wonderful, large, warm-springs pool about 1/4... more

...very basic rooms but air and heat worked fine. The bathroom was clean enough, but the beds could have used a fitted sheet on the bottom. For the price and proximity to DV it was totally acceptable. As another traveler mentioned, the people in this town possess a genuine warmth and made our stay very enjoyable. There's a warm spring... more
