We adored AVI during our five night stay. The home is gracious and welcoming thanks to fresh baked cookies and relaxing happy hour with local wines and snacks each day. The Oak Terrace room was the ideal spot for 'home base' as we dropped our daughter off at Oxy and toured the area for a possible move to Pasadena. It... more

My wife & I recently spent 6 nights at this wonderful B&B. The location is the perfect jumping off point to explore all of the excellent examples of architecture in the Pasadena, Los Angeles and Hollywood area. If you love Arts & Crafts Architecture, have visited the Roycrofters in East Aurora, NY, the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC or... more

My wife and I have stayed at the Arroyo four times now in the past year and we love it. The inn has been beautifully restored and the innkeeper is a superb hostess who is very knowledgible about the Pasadena area. The breakfasts are very satisfying and the afternoon wine and cheese provide a relaxing end of the day. We... more

We have just returned from a lovely 5 night stay! A recent beautiful restoration with fantastic views of the San Gabriel mountains. All this, plus a most hospitable friendly host, fabulous breakfasts and 5 o'clock snacks on the veranda! Other guests were all pleasant as we were all treated so well. Very easy to get to from LAX , also... more

A wonderful experience. Immaculately clean, newly remodeled with wonderful decor; quiet, nestled in the oaks on the north side of a hill overlooking the Arroyo Seco and the San Gabriel mountains; superb location, 1/2 mile to the Metro train, convenient to both LA and Pasadena (museums, Huntington, Old Town) and S Pasadena (which is also a fun place); great price;... more

The innkeeper gave me a dirty look when I mentioned that our room was noisy. Monterey Road curves at the location of the inn, consequently motorcycles and heavy trucks need to downshift to make the curve safely. We could hear them all night long. The Inn's web site claimed that the sofa in the room could be slept on, but... more

There is one bit of truth to this review. Our website incorrectly listed the room's sofa as a pullout bed. I take full responsibility for this mistake. It has been corrected on the website. The room sleeps three with a cot. Had the guest communicated her needs with me, I might have been better able to satisfy her. She made...

We wanted a serene level of sophistication where we would stay in Pasadena and we found it at the Arroyo Vista Inn. Pat the innkeeper has restored the property beautifully and very comfortably for her guests. Our delicious ample breakfast was a crustless vegetable quiche with browned potatoes and onions, fresh variety of cut up fruit, pineapple-bran muffins, and lots... more

This is simply a spectacular bed and breakfast. Secluded, yet very much in the heart of South Pasadena; stately but with a companionable feel. This wonderful inn has the feel of a turn of the century mansion, which in fact it is. All of the bedrooms have and indeed the entire interior have been redone in a way that manages... more

Over the last two years I have visited Pasadena often and The Arroyo Vista Inn has been the most relaxing and charming Bed and Breakfast I have ever had the pleasure to stay at. The B&B was located on a quiet hillside that overlooked a scenic view of downtown South Pasadena. My boyfriend and I stayed at the inn over... more

We stayed for four nights at the Inn and had a wonderful experience. Pat was a great host and kitchen guru and both breakfast and happy hour were delicious each day. The property is historic and has been carefully restored leaving its Craftsman charm and details. Rooms are elegant but not fussy. Walking distance to great shops and restaurants and... more
