This was probably a very nice resort at one time. The location is excellent. Our door led directly to the sand. THE GOOD: Excellent location. Great beach. The BAD: We walked in and our carpets were sopping wet from being shampooed earlier in the day. The room was moderately clean but not up to the standards we are used to... more

We stayed for 3 nights and decided that this place is not worth the money, there are plenty of much nicer "resorts" on the waterfront for the same price. The "sandy" beach is rock hard and riddled with stones. You need to wear shoes! The Beach cabanas are Costco umbrellas with plastic molded chairs. The Hot Tubs are filthy. Our... more

My kids and I LOVED our stay at Mourelatos! We were there for the July 4th weekend and had a blast! We loved the view from our room which looked directly onto the lake, and every room is designed to give guests that view. Watching the fireworks right from the Mourelatos lakefront was cool!!! (no traffic, no crowds!) The staff... more

We booked for three nights and fled after one. On arrival, we immediately noticed the dirty, stained carpeting. The floors squeeked with every step. The kitchen blinds were broken along with one strap of the luggage rest. Both lamps next to the bed were not working properly. Only four hangars were provided. The two stained washcloths were unusable. The hot... more

This hotel went far beyond my expectations. The view from every room of the snow-capped mountains is spectacular, set against a most inviting sandy beach. The rooms are beautifully designed, appointed, and very homey, including a small kitchen. Just outside the door, one can enjoy the terrific ambiance with food and drink, or just relaxing on the beach a few... more

We booked here hoping for a tranquil stay on the lake. We were aware of the road passing directly behind the lodge and did phone in advance to check noise levels and were told it wasn’t a problem. We arrived finding it to be a four lane road with constant traffic noise. Furthermore, we could hear the telly from the... more

My wife and I stayed at Mourelatos for 2 nights (I wish we stayed longer), everything was wonderful, we thought we were in heaven. The property is owned by a Greek couple, who dedicated their lives to make this place the best hotel in Tahoe. They seem like they thought about everything. I have nothing negative I can say about... more

My first time in Lake Tahoe was made much easier by the Mourelatos' Lakeshore Resort staff. They were very helpful and friendly, and there was always someone around when you needed them. The room was comfortable and large enough for a single room. You feel safe and secure and are well cared for but left in peace when needed. The location... more

I looked everywhere online for a hotel that would accept us for one night on a weekend and consulted my Lonely Planet as a last resort. Mourelatos was recommended in there and when I called they had space, too! We've already been back at this hotel and it has become our staple. The building is newly renovated, the rooms are... more
