I stayed at the Rochester this past February and felt right at home! My boyfriend and I came for a romantic getaway and fell in love with the Rochester. Our king room was larger than I expected for a bed & breakfast and had a luxurious western feel to it, without going too overboard. The location and staff were the... more

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Rochester. We spent a night in one of the dog-friendly rooms, and thought it was clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. Our dog really enjoyed the thoughtful bed and treat. The breakfast was very nice- the French toast was delicious. We enjoyed a nice drink at the Steamhouse Brewery down the... more

About 3 months ago I booked 3 rooms for 6 family members through the Rochester Hotel's web site. I booked 2 rooms in the main house and one studio across the street at the sister property, the Leland House. The rooms at the Rochester were exceptional in size for an historic hotel. The Leland House room was understandably small w/... more

... this place may not charm you the way it has other reviewers. We weren't. We stayed in a very small room for $189 per night mid-week rate in late August. We had two queen beds with pretty pink and white hand-sewn quilts, and cowboy movie photographs and posters decorated our room walls as well as common areas of the... more

We l-o-v-e-d the Rochester Hotel / Leland House (the partner facility across the street). The hotels are located easy walking distance not only from historic downtown Durango, but from three great dining choices off the downtown strip -- Steamworks Brewery, East by Southwest, and the Sushitarian. Our room in the Leland was small but perfectly appointed. The overall feel was... more

This is a fun place for lovers of old cowboy movies. Lots of photos and movie posters all over the hotel. Good full breakfast and cookies in the afternoon. Not a great value. Was priced too high for the size of the room, not quality linens and towels. Is off the main street so it is quiet and within walking... more

Just returned from 3 nights at the Rochester. If you visit Durango, you would be crazy not to stay here. Yes, I have stayed at more "4-star" places, e.g., the Cavalieri Hilton in Rome, but I have never stayed at a hotel I liked better. The rooms are large and spotless, decorated beautifully, with a comfortable bed. The hotel is... more

Based on reviews here on TripAdvisor, we stayed at the Rochester Hotel during a quick trip to Durango last weekend. Don't be fooled by the outside which doesn't look particularly impressive....It's an old rooming house... The place is just right! Our accommodations were upgraded to a suite free of charge and we found every aspect of our stay to be... more

We really enjoyed the Rochester Hotel. It's a very clean and well decorated property. Breakfast is very good and presented very nicely, and rooms are all decorated differently with a lot of charm and good taste. The location, a block away from main street, is great, with many fine restaurants within walking distance. The lovely garden is nice in the... more
