WARNING TO ALL: If you are thinking of staying in this hotel, please think again and find somewhere else!! This is by far the worst place I have ever stayed in. I am by no means a person that is snooty or has really high standards. I am not wealthy. I just expect that when I stay somewhere that the... more

We live in Orlando and visit Daytona frequently. We booked the hotel the morning of our trip and when we arrived the hotel was nothing like the website offered. The additional charges hit me first, parking $5.00 a day and $1.50 for the safe regardless of use, late check out charge $10.00 per hour, $5.00 for each key not returned.... more

We stayed there last year and we are going back this year again. For the price you pay you are not going to get top of the line. We went in not expecting the Hilton so what we got was great. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. Had a great view and there was not a lot... more

This was not the bright, cheery place I wanted to be at while on vacation. The rooms are very old, unattractive and dingy. The beds were uncomfortable. The carpets are worn. The air conditioner worked better on one side of the room while the other side of the room stayed warm. The elevators were small, dingy and not well air... more

I spent alot of time trying to pick the right hotel for a 4 day stay with 4 friends on the beach in Daytona. Due to last minute reservations alot of places were sold out. I called the 800 number to stay at the Acapulco which was sold out and the Islander was one of the few options that fit... more

WARNING!!! I don’t know who would rate the Islander a 5 other than their marketing company. Here is the truth. We are a local family. We live in Orlando and frequent Daytona Beach. We stayed at the Islander on March 28th and 29th 2008 after the so called (renovation?). I thought I got a good deal on the Internet $... more

We wanted to spend a night on the beach for the weekend. Unfortunatelly it turned out to be a nightmare... We arrived at the Islander Resort at 2 pm on Saturday afternoon. The receptionist completed our check-in and told us that our room is not ready yet. Also we were told that we could change at the bathroom in the... more

While the price per night of this hotel is appealling, it was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The carpets are stained, the doors are warped, there was food particles on the hotel room floor, which of course means bugs, BIG bugs (specificlly roaches, both dead and alive were found in the room). Plus the sheets were stained.... more

I booked this room before I found this web site and wish I had seen this site first. These are the good things:the a/c was ice cold;the beds were very comfortable; the view was great; the outdoor pool was very nice (very clean); access to the beach was very easy; most of the staff were very friendly(the night guy was... more

Looking for a nice place to stay for a decent price, NOT!! Hotel staff was not friendly at all, could not chreck-in until after 3p.m., even though several of the rooms were ready, once I checked-in (it took about 30 min's because there was only one person working the desk) I went to my room and was very disappointed!!! First... more
