I had read a few bad reviews of the Shipwreck but we had a great time. yes the rooms were small but they were clean. The AC worked great and the noise level was not bad at all. The best part was that there are sitting areas outside so you can sit outside at night and play cards or just... more

Twice I have stayed at this Motel and twice they have tried to charge my credit card a fee.. claiming that I was smoking in the room. The first time they tried this I thought they may have made a mistake however now I see that this is common practice for them. I have found out that this fee was... more

Not a place I will recommend to anyone, friend or foe.I have been going to Ft Myers Beach for getaways for almost ten years now. I have stayed at the Shipwreck all times but I`ve had it. Made reservations online at their website for ourselves and a room for friends also. When we arrived to check in it was a big hassle... more

My husband and I were unexpectedly (but happily) "stuck" in Ft. Myers due to weather. We had a friend that had stay at the Shipwreck before so we checked it out. The room was small but all we needed was a place to sleep and take an occasional shower so we really didn't care. The beach is a very short... more

We stayed at this motel with my 7 yr old daughter for 3 nights. Personally I found the other reviews on this hotel fairly accurate during my stay. Location is definitely the selling point... very easy walking distance from stores, good restaurants, and the beach. The motel itself is kind of cool... it's older but has been nicely refurbished with... more

We paid $180 a night and expected a little more than we got. Planned on staying two nights, but left early. We checked in late and when we arrived to the room, there were windows open and the AC on...such a waste. The rooms were outdated and not clean. Everything was old and dark. I was scared to walk with... more

After reading very mixed reviews on this site, I booked a 3night stay at the Shipwreck for March 2008. The whole trip down to Florida I was nervous of what to expect of the motel. In all, it was not a bad experience. As far as location goes, the Shipwreck cannot be beat. It is within 100 yards of the... more

We stayed 6 nights and loved the location, which is close to everything--shopping, the beach, food, entertainment. Our room was small if compared to a newer, typical hotel chain, but they are very clean, well maintained, and ours was recently updated. The beds are comfortable, the staff was helpful and friendly, and the motel is all non-smoking, which we enjoyed.... more

My overall trip to Fort Myers was great the only downfall was the place we picked to stay in. During my trip I stayed in the Cresant Cottage which is a part of the shipwreck and I had a AWFUL experience there. The first night I woke up to bugs in my bed and bites all up my arms. We... more

Not bad for the money - good location, fresh paint and tiled floors. My issue was with the owner. She was unkind, uncaring and never backed her employees. We flew into Orlando on a Wednesday to check out the attractions and scheduled to drive to Shipwreck and check in on Saturday. Unfortunately a person in our party ended up in... more
