We booked the "Smugglers Cove" room last Saturday. A beautiful historic house, but, alas, we arrived to discover that the room's bathroom had no door--only a transparent gauze curtain. The lack of a bathroom door seems like important information for a room booking for over $200/night, at least for those who don't fall in the category of smugglers, who may... more
My wife and I spent 4 wonderful nights at the Williams House this month (at the same time as the honeymoon couple that just posted a review). We enjoyed our stay immensly. We booked a beautifully appointed suite in the cottage, which was decorated in an Asian motiff. It was incredibly comfortable and relaxing. The 2nd floor porch off of... more
We recently stayed in the William's House on our honeymoon. The inn keepers were gracious and the home lovely. One of our favorite part was relaxing on the upper and lower porches. We took a nine mile bike ride out to a fort and over to the beach which is natural looking with dunes and all. Wear helmets if you... more
Fell in love with Amelia Island, thanks in large part to Deborah and Byron, owners/managers of this quaint, romantic getaway. Our accomodations were comfortable, clean, superbly furnished with fine antiques and a very, very comfortable King sized bed. The gas fireplace added warmth and ambience, the sitting room overlooking the gardens and fountain was delightful as was the quiet, private... more
AIWH is a beautiful bed and breakfast! It has three different buildings on the property- the main house and two others. The main house is large, gorgeous, and quaint. You feel like you have stepped back in time. It has two dining rooms where we ate breakfast. We stayed in one of the other houses on the property, which was... more
We just completed our fifth stay in four years at the Williams House. We feel it is the most beautiful in the area, and has the most to offer. The rooms are all quite nice, although we always stay in the same room (Smuggler's Cove). The house provides a lot of opportunities for relaxation - the gardens, the 1st and... more
We stayed at the Williams House on December 23-26, 2007 on their Christmas package. Our experience at the Williams House was wonderful! The inn was decorated beautifully both inside and outside for the holiday, including our room (Snugglers Cove). Their attention to detail is incredible! Each morning we were served a delicious breakfast with a holiday tablesetting. Chrismtas Eve night... more
My wife and I have been visiting Amelia Island two to three times a year for the past five years. But this past Thanksgiving was one of our most memorable experiences thanks to Byron & Deborah McCutchen and the Williams House. Since we are well acquainted with the island we knew of the Williams House but had never stayed there... more
My mom and I were looking for a little getaway that would include luxurious rooms and food with an opportunity to explore the history and charm of the old south. We were thrilled with our visit to the Williams House at Amelia Island in the most northern tip of Florida and right on the Atlantic. The inn itself was impeccable... more
