So when we arrived we were a bit scared. While the guesthouse is just a few blocks from Duval, those blocks go from touristy to run down in a hurry. Duval St. is lively, fun and exciting. Howe St. is eerily quite and a bit unkempt in places. But, you get what you pay for. We felt unsafe the first... more

Booked for our 25th wedding anniversary as we wanted something different than the usual resort experience. We found it. When i gave the cabbie the address she stared at me and said have you stayed there before? told her no and she said "You know that's by the housing projects". I asked her to clarify what she meant by that.... more
