Of all our accommodation during our 2-week roadtrip around Dixie, this was the most disappointing. The motel has a bleak location, nowhere near Lake City proper - fine if you are motoring through on the Interstate, but we approached it from Gainesville so it felt very remote by the time we got there. We showed up here inadvertently after acquiring parts to stave off a potential RV breakdown. We were two adults and one small poodle, and I checked in without reservations. I made a guaranteed reservation at this hotel through yahoo using a credit card. The yahoo email confirmation indicated that the cancellation policy was notification by 4 pm the day before the reserved date. Do not stay here. If you must drive a few extra miles to a decent place, take the time! We stayed at the Days Inn in Lake City because it was on the Interstate and a convenient stopping place before proceding to our final destination further down in Florida. We didn't experience any problems at check-in except that the night... more
