We have just returned from a 6 night stay at the Penny Farthing Inn and can only say it was well worth crossing the Atlantic for. From the moment we arrived Marie, Dave and Betty did everything to make our stay really special. Any little requests were attended to immediately and by the end of our stay we felt quite... more

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful B&B Sept 21 & 22, 2008. The Penny Farthing is truly what everyone seeks in a B&B. The Inn keepers, Dave and Marie, are very accommodating and delightful, taking pleasure in making each guests stay special and memorable. Coffee, tea and wine are available in the reception area... more

I stayed at this b&b for 2 nights last week and could not have been happier with the experience. The rooms were comfortable, clean and decor was charming. From the first meeting with the hosts Marie and David we felt part of the family. On meeting Marie the first thing she gave my friend and I was a cup of tea.... more

My girlfriend and I booked a weekend getaway. In the interim, my girlfriend, as a member of the Air Force and Florida air national guard, was called up to active duty due to the hurricane's Hannah and Ike potential threat to our coastlines. When my girlfriend called to cancel our reservation, she was told by Marie: "I understand you are... more

My husband and I stayed here in July of 2008. We were in the Dawn, and had a wonderful vacation. The inn is within walking distance to many of the historical sights in St. Augustine, and offers off-street parking, so our car remained parked for the majority of our stay. The room was comfortable, and very clean! Our room had... more

We stay at B&Bs all the time and have been for over 12 years now. The Penny Farthing was mediocre in many ways. The owner did provide a great little spread for us for our anniversary (since my husband had requested this when reserving) and that was really nice and we did enjoy it. The chocolate strawberries were fantastic!! However,... more

I'm sorry that the "Penny Farthing Inn" was not up to your expectations. We try to keep the house as authentic as possible due to it being a 120 year old victorian home. The room on the website states that their is an original claw bath as well as hand basin which until now everyone has loved. On the website...

This was our first time staying at a B & B and we could not have been happier. The host(s) were very friendly and full of information. The Inn was clean, homey, and is located in a very convenient part of historic downtown St. Augustine. We stayed in the "La Casitas" room (will stay there again!). St. Augustine is a... more

For my trip to St. Augustine, I was looking for a B&B that would accomodate my parents, who are 83 and 85 years old. I interviewed several B&B owners before making resevations, including talking to David (and wife Marie), who own Penny Farthing. Based on my conservation with David, I booked at Penny Farthing Inn and they delivered! My parents... more

My partner and I made our first trip to Saint Augustine, glad we stayed at the Penny Farthing, and we stayed in the Tree House and had an awesome time. Marie, Dave, Matthew and Deb the housekeeper were terrific hosts; they go out of their way to make sure you are 100% satisfied. The Inn is in a convenient location... more
