From the hotel information, I expected this to be a luxury setting. It was more down-home, with friendly staff but a bit worn overall. My room had a beautiful view toward the river, which I loved, and a well-appointed bathroom, but the bedroom floor creaked when I walked on it and on one of the two nights the a/c moaned... more

For the price of just under $100 a night, this place is a steal. The view is amazing and the rooms are very comfortable. It has more of a bed and breakfast feel, and a high end service staff. The dumbwaiter is neat but not practical. Also, the internet service could use some help, but overall, it was just great.... more

Granted, my many stays were a few years ago, but I have such lovely memories of this very beautiful hotel. Most appreciated were the owner's retention of so many aspects of the Abbey's history. The paintings, the chapel, so many reminders of the hallowed use of the building created a welcoming and soothing atmosphere. The lobby always had a glorious... more

We stayed here on our way to Utah. We liked everything about the place. We had an excellent dinner at a very reasonable price and the front desk was handled in an excellent manner. The Inn was clean and the bath room fixtures up to date. If we are ever anywhere near the area again this is where we would... more

The Abbey Hotel was a wonderful place to stay on my vacation, although it was only for one night. Perhaps the best part of the hotel was not its beautiful view of the Mississippi River, or the very generously sized rooms, but instead it was the friendly help at the front desk. Everyone who manned the area not only helped... more

My wife and I recently spent one night at the Abbey Hotel and very much enjoyed our stay. It's exciting to cross the bridge from Moline to Bettendorf and see the Abbey Hotel on top of the hill. Check-in went smoothly and it was fun to get an actual "key" for the room. The room was nicely decorated and had... more

My husband and I had just spent the day bicycling 60 miles up the Mississippi River, in the rain no less! Thoroughly drenched, another night of camping was out of the question, so we scouted the quad cities for something, well, a little special. This is not your average hotel, or even a historic B&B. The Abbey really is just... more

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful weekend at the Abbey Hotel. What an interesting place to stay! This place is bursting with history, and we enjoyed learning about its former life as a cloistered monastery for Carmelite nuns. The tiny museum on the 3rd floor gave us a glimpse into its past. The chapel and the two... more

May 2005 We just had our wedding and reception here at the Abbey Hotel in Bettendorf and everything was perfect! The hotel is beautiful! The staff is very friendly and the surroundings are wonderful! We couldn't be happier! You will love the history and the grounds. The rooms were actually made out of several rooms the the nuns lived in.... more

We stayed at the Abbey with their New Year's Eve package (room, dinner, dance, party favors, breakfast) and found it to be extremely overpriced. (more than $250.00) for one night and we were disappointed. The hotel is a remodeled Abbey/nunnary and is roomy and "interesting" but not worth the price. Food was excellent but meal service was terrible and took... more
