We just spent a week in NY, MD and PA. This was my least favourite hotel and the one we paid the most for it. Parking is a long way from the front door of the hotel. Check in was fine. We were 3 couples travelling together and they did put all the rooms together which was very good. However,... more

We enjoyed staying at this hotel, all the staff from the receptionist to the bar tender, restaurant and housekeeping were really nice. The room was clean, comfortable and well appointed and we had a nice meal in the restaurant. Cumberland is an interesting place to explore with rail and canal historic sights and museums. more

The Holiday Inn is in a great location. By car there is easy access from I-68, and the major attractions in the Historic and Canal district are all within a walking distance of 2-4 blocks. There is no need to use city parking because there is ample free parking at the hotel. My husband, with mobility issues, had no difficulty... more

My wife and I biked along the C&O and stayed here on a Monday night. Price was much better than the bed and breakfasts in town. Fairly clean and, despite facing the train tracks and a busy road, was very quiet. I've been in better hotels at this price, but was an okay value. One plus - you could take... more

I thought it would be nice to revisit this hotel located in downtown Cumberland Md since I do enjoy train watching and they accept pets. It’s been 20 years and I’m not sure when this hotel was last renovated but it sure looks like its ready again. I made my reservation online (Holiday Inn site) and chose a room with... more

We were driving from the Outer Banks home to Michigan and as it was nearing the time to stop for the night we looked for an alternative to Breezewood. We drove east on I-68 which runs through Maryland roughly parallel to the Penna. Turnpike, hoping to find a place to stay in Cumberland, the largest town on the map. Furthermore,... more

Husband and son spent a night here on their way to WV for an adventure vacation. Husband woke up the red welts on both of his legs. Pulled several BUGS off of his legs. Took the bugs in a cup to the front desk manager. The manager seemed disinterested at best. Said he'll "look into it". I called corporate via... more

I took my husband and young son here for a Father's Day treat. They had a wonderful time spending hours looking out the window at the CSX and Amtrak trains going by until it got too dark to see them. We live by railroad tracks so we are used to the train noise, but If you are a light sleeper... more
