The Colonial Inn is located in the heart of Edgartown. It is central to the shops and restaurants, the Chappy ferry, and harbor. I stayed here for a long weekend in Mid November. It was the last weekend before the Inn closed for the winter. There weren't many guests so it was very quiet, but I can't imagine staying here during peak season - the walls are paper thin and the rooms are very small, but clean. We found the Colonial Inn to be exactly as represented. It is an old inn which has been kept up well. The rooms are small; not surprising for an older facility. The room was poor and the staff's attitude was HORRIBLE! I would never stay here again, nor would I recommend it to friends. Go to the Vineyard, but stay away from the Colonial Inn. more
