My husband and I recently had our wedding reception at the Amway Grand Plaza and stayed in a suite for the evening. The customer service was terrible and I would not recommend staying here, especially on a special occasion. The staff failed to stock the refrigerator with refreshments two days in a row. After ordering a diet coke from room... more

I stayed one night at the Amway Grand Plaza for a wedding which was held in the Imperial Room of the hotel itself. The building is decorated beautifully with rich accents and architectural details. The cocktail hour and wedding reception were without question one of the best I've attended. The food and service were impeccable. In fact the entire hotel... more

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was excellent. The hotel is split into two parts - the old style and the tower. We were in the tower and had a suite (The Texas Suite on the 21st floor). It was large and very well maintained. We had a package which included breakfast and free parking (you can self... more

We felt quite comfortable staying at this 4/5 star hotel. There was a mix of age groups, attire preferences, and dining choices. While certainly upscale, our take was that the hotel and the city in general were open and friendly and happy to service guests of all financial levels. If you can upgrade to a suite it is an extra... more

We had a wonderful experience at the Amway Grand and will definitely be back the next time we visit GR. The hotel was impeccably maintained with outstanding, friendly service from every staff member we had contact with. The prices were incredibly low for the amenities and service we received while there. Room service was great -- no errors, quick and... more

I recently attended a convention that was held at the Amway Grand. I had heard a lot about the hotel's history and was looking forward to staying there. I checked in about 8pm on Sunday evening and the Front Desk staff was cordial but did not go out of their way to tell me anything about the hotel or its... more

I stayed August 1 2008. The first room the air conditioning didn't work. By the time they gave me another room, and directions to van andel (front desk person said steps away) I missed the first 20 mins of the concert. THE WORST PART WAS THE BED HAD A SINK HOLE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE ! WHEN I COMPLAINED THEY SAID THEY... more

The lobby was gorgeous, as was all the decor. The restraunts had good food and the gift shops were average. The conference space was nice, but many rooms weren't suitable for presentations due to the "columns" in the middle of the rooms. When booking, definately ask for the tower if you want a view but an average room, or the... more

The hotel is beautiful and very well maintained. The rooms are large and luxurious. The staff takes care of every need. This is as nice as any luxury hotel in any large city for a fraction of the cost. I would highly recommend it. more

I've stayed here twice on business. The staff is uniformly lovely. Once, I forgot my cufflinks and the woman running the sundries store got the security guard to open up the men's store to get me a pair. Above and beyond! I have stayed in the old and in the new tower. The new tower reminds me of Embassy Suites.... more
