When going to the island we didn't know what to expect. With the boat racing going on we found it hard to find a place, only found the Inn on accident. What a blessing! This charming place was so cozy. After spending all day touring, my husband and I enjoyed some irish music outside. We also had a wonderful picnic... more

My husband and 3 kids visited Stonecliffe for 2 nights this summer. We stayed in the Summer House. The room was great, had a lakeview suite with a huge balcony, not to mention the air conditioning! Very comfortable beds and up to date decor. Every morning there is a complimentary continental breakfast. All 5 of us ate there and enjoyed... more

We visited Mackinac Island in July 2008. It was very different, enjoying the pleasure of no cars on the island. It took you back to a different time. We stayed at the Stonecliffe Inn, and while it is a distance from the main street, it is a wonderful place to stay. Travelling back and forth to and from Stonecliffe by... more

Mackinac Island is a great escape - staying at the Inn at Stonecliff away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown area made our trip very memorable. The rooms were lovely and clean. There were several dining options on site - we only went to the downtown area when we wanted to hit the tourist shops. The island is... more

We have been to the Stonecliffe several times. Even though I travel the world for living, no where I have ever been allows one to escape from everday life like a stay at the Stonecliffe. The hotel is an old style tudor, where horses are the transportation mode (no cars) and the astetic beauty of the grounds are unmatched. Having... more

My husband & I stayed at the inn in the Summer House for our honeymoon. The property was beautiful and the staff was friendly, but we had a few problems. First of all, we had paid for our rooms before we had even arrived on the island. Once we got there & checked in, the lady at the desk informed... more

I stayed here for a few nights and it was an excellent experience. The hotel - "bed and breakfast" is a stretch, even though breakfast is provided every morning for free - has several different buildings that are not attached. I stayed in the Summer House. The room was pricey - i don't think you'll ever get it for much... more

Our third year returning to Stonecliffe, and it will certainly not be our last. The property is beautifully maintained; the Summer House suites the perfect size for our family of five, and the location two miles out of town--for us--is perfect. We have learned that the best option for us is to bring our own bikes to the island. It... more

We were supposed to stay at the Inn at Stonecliffe in August, 2007 as a part of a 3 month tour around the US. However, 2 days prior to our stay, our car had a catastrophic break down and we were forced to cancel the part of our trip which included the Inn. I immediately called the Inn and informed... more

One of the things that really struck me about the Inn at Stonecliffe was the beauty of the property. It's a ways from town, and set back in the woods, but it is also on a bluff that overlooks the Straits of Mackinac, and the bridge. This is beautiful at any time of day, and especially at sunset. In addition,... more
