We stayed in all three of the NWR resorts in Etosha. This was the worst and overpriced. We booked the Jacuzzi Room for approx 1500 N$. First sent an email. No response. Then used the booking form on the NWR website. No response. Finally called a week before the trip. Found out that they are about 1 - 2 weeks... more

Halali's chalets have had a makeover and are now much nicer, see pictures. The staff were friendly (with the exception of Receptionist) and we were lucky with the game viewing at the waterhole. 4 lions after sunset staking out waiting for game and a wonderful owl catching prey. As with Okaukuejo, our perceptions of the resort here were somwhat tainted by the reconstruction work that was taking place. However, the cooperative staff seemed to cope with it better than at Okaukuejo. The accommodation and food were satisfactory and the location was good for tours around the eastern part of Etosha National Park. The waterhole was a non-event though.... more

We stayed at Halali Rest Camp for one night. We arrived just after lunch and our rooms were not ready for us, even though we had been given our room keys. The beds were not made and the room had not been cleaned. We went to the bar for a drink, where we were told we couldn’t have a glass... more

We stayed at Halali rest camp for one night after spending 2 at Okakuejo and definitely found it the better of the two. The accommodation was cleaner, the food was nicer and the staff much much friendlier than at Okakuejo. The waterhole is also a little bit away from the main camp area so there is much less noise too... more

Please see Okakuejo review as all three state camps are similar - i.e poor standard of accommodation, food, service and facilities but great locations and value. This was two years ago, so maybe there has been some refurbishment - there needs to be! more
