My sister and I had a girls night out in August. We stayed at The Lodge in Baxter/Brainerd. They have an awesome waterpark that you are allowed to drink beer in. Most places frown on that. They have an inside/outside hot tub. Our room was very nice and outdoorsy. There was two tvs in our room. One by the two... more

The water park was fun, but the room was below average. We had the loft suite, which had a bed, bathroom and sitting room on main level and two queen beds on 'loft' level. Trying to keep the temperature controlled in the room was impossible because it was cold on the main level and HOT on the loft level. (At... more

We stayed the first night across the street at the Holiday Inn Express, and thought we'd try this one the next night. It was a nice place, fun for the kids - waterpark and game room were nice. My 6 year old son loved the outdoor hot tub feature! The rooms were a bit dark - my husband didn't like... more

We booked three rooms for the week of the 4th of July. We booked well in advance, and were pleasantly surprised to receive an e-mail from the hotel letting us know there was a special 4th of July package that became available after we had booked. We happily changed to the special package, which gave us some cool freebies in... more

While on the surface everything looks nice, and yes the water park was fun, we had the two worst nights of sleep that we've ever had in any hotel. The rooms are not even close to being sound proofed. The water running or draining from other rooms sounded amplified. We could hear every word being said in the hallways. The... more

I went to the Lodge with a few of my girl friends and we absolutely had a blast! We wanted it to be such a great weekend because it my friend's bachelorette party. When we arrived at the hotel, we walked in and were amazed by our room. It was beautiful!!! All of us were dumbfounded at the great room... more

We spent two nights in one of their "cabins", and it really is not any larger than a regular motel room. They are clean, but lack any charm. Lots of log furniture, makes it seem even smaller, poor lighting, one of those noisy air conditioners, and the windows open only 2" so no fresh air. Beds are poor, pillows are... more

My husband and I stayed at th lodge and it was the worst mistake we ever made.We went down the 2 seater waterslide and you are going very fast down the tube and then when we got to the bottom we suddenly stopped and I broke off my teeth in his head and he had to get 4 stitches in... more

Upon 1st view this hotel seems like a family wonderland--northwoods theme, family suites, and a waterpark. WARNING: if you even mildly scratch the surface you will see the true horror that lies beneath. Stay across the street at the Holiday Inn with their waterpark!!! 1. king suites (for $170/nt) are not suites at all. They are nothing but standard size... more

This is a very nicely appointed NEW hotel. I would stay here again, however, they are still in the learning stage when it comes to guest services. I would really like to see some better amenities, i.e., a name brand shampoo and a conditioner to go with same. Our room was next to the stairs and someone thinking they were... more
