Carpets in rooms were very dirty and there were holes in the walls in the bathrooms. Staff were not very accomodating and if we had not paid in advance, we would have moved on. Rate we paid was around $79 and when we arrived there was a sign outside advertising rooms "from $59". I feel we vastly overpaid for what... more

upon checking in to our 'non smoking' room we were both disgusted by a strong smell of cigarette smoke. we were given a new room that was better smell-wise, but shoddy in the overall maintenance department. the carpet was worn, stained, and was pulling up at the threshold to the toilet/shower room. when i tried to turn the tv a... more

We had such a wonderful experience during our Labor Day stay in Taos that we stayed an extra day! The staff was super friendly and the rooms were very clean! The Inn is directly across the street from a grocery store which allowed us to grill out (they have a very large community grill) for 2 nights. The owner allows... more

I stayed in this motel for one night and the staff were friendly and very helpful. They allowed us to check out the motel before paying and allowed us to take one of nicely updated rooms. A good Bed, Clean room and friendly people. All of Taos needs a clean-up as Adobe finish does show age and a little care... more

I stayed one night at the Indian Hills Hill and found the night desk clerk, Chris, very polite and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The next morning I discovered there wasn't a taxi sevice in Taos and I needed to get to a nearby retreat center. The owner graciously drove me to the center and carried my heavy... more

I was just in Taos for a one night stay. I drove up to the property which appeared nice from the rode. I had a Roomsaver coupon and the front desk staff immediately stated would not be honored as this was their "peak or holiday season" . I was under the impression that it was not a holiday or peak.... more

My sincere apologies for any rude behavior exhibited by our former staff members. That is certainly not the Guest service most folks expect and it is not how we expect our team to perform. Turns out those staff members were failing at far more than rudeness. Theft and embezzelment charges have in fact been filed against several of those former...

When I called Indian Hills to make a reservation, I told them that I noted they had mixed reviews and that I wanted to stay in one of the good rooms (1 king-size bed). They quoted me $59. The room was fine. Sure the place is a little bit shabby if you're looking for things to criticize, but it was... more

Breadbird, About your question of minimal sidewalks and porr lighting...those are town issues NOT ones that we have any control over. We usually mention those facts to callers and Guests at check in. We are in the midst of making the older rooms (with the most negative comments) more similar to the deluxe single king rooms. Most folks will be...

Having read the reviews our tour leader was concerned that everything may not be as promised. We needn't have worried. The manager met us on arrival and gave us all rooms in the reconditioned wing of the motel. The rooms were of a comfortable size, clean and a comfortable king size bed. The grounds overlook the storafe area of the... more

Adder_65, The next door Dodge dealer has vacated our back acre and mostly moved across the street. They still use a small portion of the back area until their new facility is complete later in 2008. Most of the team makes an effort at providing service far better than average! Thanks for your gracious comments!

The room was disgusting, the carpet was dirty and sticky, the furniture broken with peeling veneer and the power outlets and cords dangerous. It was a nightmare keeping our son away from everything. We stopped in Taos with our 7 year old son and figured it was safer to book ahead. Next time we'll check out the room first. more

JoeB2008: Sorry your experience did not meet your expectations. That is not the service level we seek to provide. Shortly after your visit, all carpets were thoroughly cleaned during a furniture, bed, and TV replacement program. All furniture has been replaced in the oldest rooms. Our Guest comment cards are far better today than last fall! JFS

I'm not even sure where to begin with this entry because I was so repulsed by this hotel. First, I booked the (so-called 2.5 star) room through Hotwire and paid $85/night. One might say that I took a chance since I did it through Hotwire, which is true in some respects, but this hotel in no way lived up to... more

Chickytava, The exterior walks do not have any urine smell. The exterior does need freshening and will get that this spring (2008). In November 2008, all of the dated furniture and beds in the older portion of the Inn were replaced. All carpets were thoroughly shampooed and the bath tubs and surrounds replaced along with 27" TVs. The front desk...
