We have stayed at the Mirage for two nights in August 2008 and the overall experience was disappointing, especially considering the image and standard that this hotel claims to have. - we were put up in a room, the 35, which we did not like at all : is is noisy as it is close to the Reception and to... more

We had a couple of wonderful days at the Le Mirage. The staff were very nice and friendly. We were the only guests with children, but they enjoyed theit stay too. The rooms were charming and the meals were good. We ordered lunchpackages for our departure and they were the only disappointment we had. We would love to come back! more

According to the menu, on two consecutive evenings we were served a meat dish ‘raped’ with bacon. But, fortunately, the chef’s cooking proved better than his/her spelling. The set dinner comprises 5 courses. And the staff is friendly. In keeping with Namibian tradition, there is always venison on the menu. Southern Africa is no place for vegetarians. But the wine... more

I have to agree with many of the comments made by other reviews. First off, we too thought the location was fantastic, without exception. I appreciate that we are in the middle of nowhere and this may explain a lot, however the price should reflect this then. Just driving to the lodge was exciting and an adventure in itself. We... more

We got off to a bad start when the woman who appeared to be the manager greeted us by the wrong name. She then flicked through a row of envelopes, with keys attached, addressed to various anticipated guests, three times before disappearing into an office. She returned, scooped up a key, rattled off a list of optional activities and their... more

We recently stayed at the hotel. First the good points. It is situated in a stunning place. It is something different and very beautiful. The rooms are large and airy. The spa and spa staff are friendly, efficient and very professional. Well done!!! BUT!!!! At the prices they charge you expect adequate airconditioning in the rooms, there's are low budget... more

First , the place is truly ugly from the outside...The hotel is clean and neat but we hated the fact that the manager is only tour operator group friendly...We stayed there three nights and on the first afternoon, there was a group of 30 or so German teenagers, having fun at the pool... You can have fun in different way,... more

Wow! What a place... Don’t blink - or you will miss this place as Le Mirage fits perfectly into the fragile desert surroundings here. This castle is inspired by North African palatial architecture and built with stones and material from the “neighbourhood”. The rooms are unusual with no doors between the bedroom and the bathroom. Instead they are separated with... more

We almost thought that we took the wrong turn but finally saw "Le Mirage" a kind of castle in the dessert. We loved the rooms which are modern without walls and romantic in their one way. Furthermore, it is really very close to Sossusvlei. Looking for something different, than this is the right place. more
