This is the prettiest hotel on the best beach on the island. It has absolutely beautiful gardens that include croquet, giant chess, boules, a putting green, children's play area and swimming pools. The rooms are comfortable if a little on the chintzy side. It should be the best hotel ever but somehow it isn't. The main problem for us was... more

I have just returned from a four night stay with my wife and nine year old son. I had reviewed the hotel using this site and was attracted by the positive comments made about the standards expected by the hotel of it's guests. I wasn't disappointed. People dressed for dinner and wore tailored clothes in the bar and around the... more

The setting and view is simply World class, but I thought I had walked into a 70's themed hotel complete with doddery colonels and grand dames walking the corridors, and menus similarly outdated, however it did not matter. The quality of food defied my expectations ,and the facilites for children were excellent too We had 3 children in our party... more

I have been visiting this hotel every year for over 20years, since I was a very young child, and I still love it. In that time the staff have bearly changed which must tell you something about the place. There is something for everyone from very small children to the elderly. The atmosphere is very relaxed and it's a great... more

This is a lovely hotel in an excellent location on the bay. The room was large and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and efficient. We liked everything about this hotel except the restaurant, which we strongly recommend you avoid entirely. The first problem is the restaurant tries to be something it's not. They say "jackets and ties recommended for... more

What a joy to find a hotel with something for the whole family. A friend has been here for the last five years and everything they said was true. Wonderful staff and fantastic hospitality, it made everyone from seven years old to seventy four feel special. Yes it is old fashioned, we all said hurrah for that. It has a... more

Beautiful, imposing, immaculate white building. Window boxes at every window. Family run hotel and in my opinion definately the best in Jersey. Lovely gardens. Overlooks maybe the best beach in the British Isles. Restaurant service and food second to none, properly silver served by efficient staff. Decor as with everything else in the hotel is immaculate. Bedrooms are a good... more

Loved the English charm and the excellent service. Handy location 10 min taxi or 15 min bus from capital St Hellier. Formal dining on site, silver service & quality cuisine. Other restaurants 2-3 min walk. Sandy beach opposite. Well maintained gardens. Certainly recommend. Exchange Jersey pounds on departure as not accepted in UK. GBP accepted on Jersey, No Euros. more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with our two teenage boys. We were delighted by the hotel until we ate in the restaurant on the first evening. On leaving the restaurant we were 'summoned' by the headwaiter and asked if our boys could wear a shirt and tie for dinner for the remainder of our... more

This is a fine hotel- staff are great, the restaurant supurb, and gardens beautiful. However the rooms are desperately in need of modernisation. Very old fashioned, flowery look which went out of date in the 1980s, while the bathrooms are shameful for a hotel which charges 5-star prices. The hotel goes on a lot about its new penthouse suites, but... more
