BE AWARE!!!! This hotel will hit you will fees for changing your reservation for any reason, charge you a fee for valet service if you check out early and try to charge you for services you did not even use. They will also jack up your hotel rate without telling you. Stay at the Lancaster instead. more

I used to stay here often when I worked for a client in downtown Houston. The only thing good about this hotel is its location (convenient location in the Houston business center). Other than that, I have nothing good to say about this hotel. This is an average American business-class hotel, average in every sense of the word. Characterless, no... more

Positive: * Great room, soft bed (I slept like a baby) * Much better than previous DoubleTree I had styed before (JFK NY) * Clean, tidy. * Had everything I needed in the room * You get a cookie on arrival and a chocolate on the bed each other night. Negative * You need to get in a queue and... more

. I stayed at this hotel on business. My room was very comfortable and sparkling clean....(a huge plus) The bed was quite luxurious with lots of down pillows and high thread count sheets , I slept like a baby. Some of my co-workers complained that their rooms were noisy...but I heard nothing. My bank was conveniently in the adjoining Allen... more

This hotel is a typical Doubletree hotel. Warm chocolate chip cookies upon arrival, although the registration desk is up two stairs, so the disabled or those with lots of luggage could be in trouble. My room was clean and plenty big enough. It was slightly noisy because a new parking garage is being built next door. Room service was prompt... more

Oh dear! A recent stay here leads me to say that there must be a better place to stay in Houston -- especially at these prices. Turns out the dozen or so business people in the hotel's lobby working on their laptops were not there because of the convivial atmosphere. They were down there because that's the only place in... more

Stayed for 10 days and was happy overall with the services of the hotel. Maybe I was lucky as they gave me a spacious suite which definitely made my stay more pleasurable. The front desk staff was courteous (received a hot chocolate chip cookie upon my arrival so how they would have treated me afterwards was not a major concern).... more

I stayed at the Doubletree Downtown for a business conference because the seminar was held in the hotel. The staff was very nice and helpful, and there was a neat free shuttle for downtown locations. The conference facilities were good, there was ample room, food and beverages were good. The room was average, although it did have a sweet dreams... more

The hotel is downtown and only 3 blocks from the Hobby Performing Arts Center. We booked a Saturday night stay in a king room for only $79.20 plus taxes, AARP. First room had inoperable AC. Staff courteously and swiftly upgraded us free to a Suite which had a max rate of $529 posted. I am a base-level Hilton Honors member.... more

i've stayed in doubletree hotels in the past (years ago) but the two i've stayed in recently (miami and houston) have me considering staying at doubletrees from now on. well, as long as they serve chocolate chip cookies and have their signature "sweet dreams" beds! i arrived into houston late leaving my friend to check into the hotel earlier in... more
