My husband and I stayed at the Green Trails Inn for three nights a few months after discovering the owner's other property, the Pelican Inn on Dog Island, Florida. Brookfield is a great central location for everywhere from Woodstock and Quechee to Burlington, Stowe and Montpelier. Jane is a font of information and a lovely lady. The new owner of this inn, a professional cookbook writer, has created a wonderful experience for guests. When we arrived there was a scratch-baked warm apple pie waiting to greet us and it just kept getting better. My husband and I stayed at The Green Trails Inn during the weekend of August 6th, 2005. This Inn is a jewel, located across the street from a lake and the (famous) Vermont Floating Bridge.
