I loved the Summit Lodge, I was a little worried after reading the other reviews but I have to say happily surprised when I got there. It is warm and inviting all of the staff was wonderful. Our room was small but cozy and clean all of the common area's are very inviting. I plan to stay there again with... more

I usually don't write reviews...I just don't go back. In this case our group of nine were very dissapionted. It felt as if somebody died the day before. A very somber feeling by almost all of the staff. It was as if they were scared to be happy. Jim F NJ more

My wife and I were looking to book a nice weekend getaway in Killington for our wedding anniversary and used the internet to search for a nice resort. We found some "beautiful" pictures and descriptions on the Summit Lodge's website. We went there with great expectations , especially with the Summit's prices, high, but thats ok if its really nice,... more

Upon arrival, it was like I walked into a funeral home, the staff hardly ever smiled. Except for one employee, Mr. Bill. Anytime I asked them (staff) a question, I felt like I was bothering them. The dogs were allways laying on the floor and in the way, had to step over them. The room was like I stepped back... more

We have just returned from a week stay at the Summit Lodge. Yes the hotel could probably do with some updating but we loved it. All the staff made us feel very welcome. Rooms are basic and could do with tea and coffee facilities and also a remote control for the TV! We took our own kettle so were able... more

When we first called the hotel we booked a suite. Didnt receive confirmation email so we called back several days later. They're computers were "acting up," so our reservation never got made. Booked it again. Same thing happened again. Got it right the third time but they gave someone else our suite and we got another room. When we arrived... more

The Summit is cozy and welcoming. It is not new, slick and shiny. To me, this is a place that reflects a history of many satisfied return guests who have enjoyed it through the years. The atmosphere is rustic and relaxed. There are several nice ammenities including the large fireplace in the main lounge where guests can play board games, read... more

The Summit Lodge was the site for a wedding we attended from out of town. Although the grounds & wedding were beautiful we found the staff and the accomodations horrendous! After a very bad storm the power went out. With no power, the lights went out, and the DJ was no longer able to play so the reception was cut... more

In August 2007, our area was hit with a severe Nor'easter storm that literally blew our transformer off the pole. Half of our town was without power and there were trees down everywhere with live wires across them. Rutland, the city closest to us, was also hit with outages and much damage. Stores were not open as they had no...

I would certainly suggest that you don't go in the summer months since they have no air conditioning in the rooms and it was about 90 degrees when we arrived in our room. We did have a table fan in our room, but that was pitiful! The bar didn't open until the evening and the restaurant wasn't open for sandwiches... more

Customer service was terrible - never a sorry or thank you. No service with a smile to make you feel welcome. No air conditioning for a hot summer day, in the rooms or dinning room, just a table top fan in the guest rooms. Rooms not as nice as pictured on the internet. Lost power during a storm - which... more
