When I first arrived I was greeted at the door and given a short tour of the house. It is beautiful!! It's restful without being boring. It is quiet and elegant without being untouchable. You know how you someitmes feel in the lobby of really nice hotels? Like if you touch something it will either break or an silent alarm... more

My husband and I stayed there to celebrate our anniversary. We have stayed at many B & B's and this one was one of our least favorites. The hosts were polite, but not overly friendly. They did not engage their visitors at breakfast and as a result some of the breakfasts were uncomfortably silent. The breakfasts were good, but average.... more

In response to "buddysarak" - I started managing The Old Consulate Inn in June 2000, and since that day we have never served the same dessert 2 nights in a row - even when requested by a guest - if there was anyone on a multi night stay. We have also never served a "pie" for dessert, although I have...

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Old Consulate Inn for two nights during the Centrum Jazz Festival in July. Upon arriving to the B&B, we were given a brief history of the Inn. Sue (one of the innkeepers) asked us up front how we were paying - this threw us off guard as the payment for the B&B was... more

My wife and I stayed two nights at the Old Consulate on the basis of previous reviews. We found it clean, comfortable, well maintained, quiet and convenient. They supplied thick towels, terry bathrobes and similar amenities. A hot tub was available outside if we'd cared to hazard it. We chose the second floor rear room for $125 plus tax. It... more

My husband and I visited the Old Consulate Inn for our anniversary. We had a wonderful experience from the first phone call to make our reservation until we checked out. Although a little pinker than it looked on their website the "Alcove Minisuite" was charming, even the sloping ceiling was wallpapered in the true spirit of Victorian attention to detail.... more

The best BREAKFAST at a B&B ever. We enjoyed our room and the Jacuzzi. We met nice new friends at Breakfast. Did I mention how great the food was at the multi course breakfasts? I will try another B&B next time. more

All B&B's are not created equal. This one is definately not equal to most--it excels. It was all of the little touches that made this place superior: 1. A short history of the inn when we checked in 2. Comfortable room (although I'd expect this at any place), with bathrobes 3. Hot tub 4. Evening dessert...not just a sara lee... more

Stop right where you are- if you are planning on visiting Port Townsend, you MUST stay at the Old Consulate Inn! There is no question about it. I cannot recommend it highly enough. My best friend/travel partner and I have stayed at numerous bed and breakfasts over the years, in several different states and in Canada, and of all of... more
