We enjoyed our stay at the Bar Harbor Grand. Located at the very edge of Bar Harbor's main drag, the hotel is extremely close to the town's shops and restaurants and a short walk to the water. At the same time, it is somewhat removed from the town's hustle and bustle during the high tourist season. All in all, it... more

We were very impressed with this hotel. My family of 4 (kids 7 and 9) enjoyed the warm pool every day and the easy walk to downtown for dinner and ice cream. The 2 bedroom was spacious and quiet with blackout curtains to help sleep way past the 5AM sunrises. The bathrooms were also large. The only negatie comment is... more

We only had a single night stay at the Grand, but it was grand. We arrived late and the front desk staff was tied up with other visitors, but we were given undivided attention and courteous service when our turn came around. Our rooms were spacious and two bedrooms shared a large bathroom. The rooms were clean and well appointed... more

A great bargin in a convenient location, walking distance to all downtown activities. It was very quiet and we were on the street level, in the front. BUT it was before "high" season starts. While I'm sure there are more fancy breakfasts elsewhere, there was a variety of choices and we were able to get on our way to explore the shore... more

My husband and I spent the Memorial Day weekend at the Bar Harbor Grande Hotel. The entire experience was positive and above and beyond. From arriving late on Friday evening and having the manager there to still greet us and offer us homemade baked goods to booking us a quaint restaurant for dinner on Saturday evening to giving us some... more

Just returned from a great stay at the Bar Harbor Grande. $79 for a lovely room with comfortable king bed. I have stayed at hotels five times the price of this one that have been only half as good. All the staff were friendly, helpful, kind and considerate. We arrived late but they left a room key for us and... more

This hotel was wonderful! Bar Harbor is a very cute town, and this hotel fits right in! It has a charming old feel, but everything seemed new. One of the best parts is that they have rocking chairs on the front porch for your enjoyment. Its a great way to spend a summer evening (but I have to admit, May... more

We loved staying at the BHG. The proximity to town can't be beat. Everything was within walking distance and the free breakfast was great! We traveled with our 2 children (8 mos and 2 yrs at the time) and another couple and their 2 yr old. We had rooms next to each other and we never felt badly if our... more

We stayed at the Grand for a two night side trip in the middle of our 2 week stay at a lakehouse in Belgrade Lakes, ME, about 2.5 hours away. We planned a trip to Bar Harbor to see the coast and add another type of Maine experience to our vacation. With 4 children under 10, there are not many... more
