Owners of the hotel are pleasant and welcoming and the location is good for people who want to stay in the Castro area. The inn itself, however, was not very comfortable. Carpet and bedding were very worn, and the shared bathroom was not especially clean. Bed was old and uncomfortable. The self service breakfast was bare bones - grocery store... more

Stayed at their Village House for 4 nts in January. Had the Grand Room which was very big with a good bed. The bathroom was opposite and shared. It was cleaned very regulary and towels changed. Breakfast was self service out of a converted wardrobe. Starbucks next door. We found free Wifi. (not sure if it was offred by the... more

This is not your typical luxury bed and breakfast, at least those I am used to here in the south. It reminded me more of a European style guest house or Inn. Everythng that you need is there, but it is simply done. Very little interaction with the staff, and it is pretty self service, make yourself at home type... more

This place was dirty me and my partner stayed in larger room w/ the full bath. When we arrived the carpets were not even vacuumed, bath room was really bad the shower had a nasty film all around it and pubic hair. Thank goodness they keep Ajax under the bathroom sink. The comforter was awful with a smear of crap... more

Walter and his staff will make you feel very welcome at this peaceful, relaxed and well run guest house situated on a very quiet tree lined street but only minutes away from all the bustle of Market Street and Castro Street. There are only five rooms so the atmosphere is intimate and homely. We stayed in the Master bedroom which... more

My wife and I wanted to stay in the Castro district to be close to her son while I was attending a Conference at a hotel near the ariport. The place advertised that they were hetrosexual friendly and they were. 24 Henry has two places and we stayed at The Villager. We loved being in the center of the action... more

My g/f and I stayed at this place for 10 days. The service before we got there and when we were there was 2nd to none. It was very clean and the maid service was daily. The staff were friendly and so too the guests. Breakfast was included, it was very relaxing to have a morning coffee and bagel in... more

A nice little, friendly B&B very close to everything in the Castro area. The owners are very friendly and helped us with directions, sightseeing suggestions etc. It's a great place if you are travelling alone or with partner or friends. more

Walter certainly makes you feel at home in this great B&B. Located 5 minutes walk from the Castro area and 3 minutes to the subway, this hotel makes the perfect base for a gay stay in SFO. The room was average size with a good bed. The shared bathroom was large and clean and just across the way. Help yourself... more

For our first trip to San Francisco I considered Becks Motor Lodge (good location), but after reading reviews of it, I decided for something else. Everything is nice and clean. Rooms and bathroom are cleaned every day - even the towels are great! Their website says "Complimentary Continental Breakfast" - but it is MORE than that: Bagels, bread, youghurts, juice,... more
