My husband and I spent two delightful days at the Chateau Tivoli as part of cross-country trip we took by train. This property is wonderful. It is tucked away in a neighborhood of beautiful Victorians and outshines the rest. We were greeted by Meredith who welcomed us even though we arrived several hours early and she proudly told us the... more

We stayed here for a few nights and found it to be a great bed and breakfast. The house is very impressive and well kept, the staff couldn't do enough for us, breakfast was good (bagels, cereals, fruit juice etc) and I liked the complimentary cheese and wine served late afternoon. The location of the B & B was its... more

Your mom is in town and you want to impress the pants off her. This is where you stay. When you finally become a mature adult,- okay, well when you finally have some money to spend- you ditch your studio and relax in style with your in town guest at this beautiful bed and breakfast. Decorated with amazing antiques and... more

We stopped at the Tivoli on our way home from Nepal, back to the East Coast. The Tivoli was just the right thing for transitioning from the most exotic to our normal mundane. The decor is eclectic and pleasant, the staff were more than helpful, the beds comfortable and we could choose when to venture out to the San Francisco... more

Chateau Tivoli is in a nice location of San Francisco but not easy to get around especially in finding a cab. Fortunately, we spent most of the time walking and that was do able. The house is beautiful but this B&B is runned so impersonally by a staff. There is no service although they do make your bed and give... more

"Chateau Tivoli is probably the nicest B&B I have stayed at in the world! Big statement, I know. But the charm of this place and the pleasant, incredibly helpful staff made it one of the most comfortable stays on our trip. The decor is over the top Victoriana which has to be seen to be believed, but it's not a dusty old... more

The Chateau Tivoli is one of the best B & Bs I've ever stayed in. Its funky, eclectic charms add to the overall feeling of "being at home" in the city! The staff were courteous, friendly and very willing to help with suggestions for city/dining activities. Meredith is sweet and kind, Jonathan is helpful and charming, Monnica and Nico were... more

we took pictures of everything! it is like staying in a museum. We really enjoyed the staff and the food and the B&B itself....the neighborhood was safe, but not great. had trouble getting a taxi in the morning for a business meeting, had to walk several blocks. Getting a shuttle for the airport was not an issue though. we really... more

A dear friend of ours had a wonderful history in Opera. Her voice thrilled us during many performances. She died in 2006 and we asked her husband to join us for a trip of remembrance and celebration. The history of the opera in this house was excellent for reflection and memory. The home is grand and you can imagine the... more

Stayed there in October, 2007. My advice if you are thinking about it – “don’t.” Sincere, well-meaning, honest staff – that’s the only thing good about the place. (Although there is no staff there after 7 at night so when our bed frame fell apart there was nothing to do but drag the mattress onto the floor.) The place is... more
