It's not too far, but the newly built Intercontinental Hotel is actually closer than the Marriott. The rooms were extremely comfortable and tasteful, and the bathrooms so modern, clean and big...nice towels, but their shampoo smells weird. March 2008. I took the Amtrak Capital Corridor Train from the Sacramento Valley into the Emeryville Amtrak train station. From there an Amtrak connection bus into San Francisco.
