I stayed here for my birthday weekend and was absolutely delighted by the service i received and the overall environment of the hotel! The lady at the front desk actually sent a bottle of wine with a birthday note to my room. The evening wine reception was a great opportunity to converse with people from all over the world. I... more

The Hotel Union Square is a rare gem in the heart of San Francisco. I selected the hotel in October 2007 for a short stayover on my way to Hong Kong. It was nice, small, friendly and very clean. It needed some renovations, but still I was very satisfied. I completed an online survey of the hotel and received a... more

parking address was never provided, so we had a hard time trying to figure how to get in. union square is waaaayyyyy to crowded, and could not handle the location. the room was freakishly tiny and way TOO expensive!! no room for luggage. if there was a fire, the scary tiny window did not lead outside. we would have burned... more

I recently stayed at Hotel Union Square and was blown away. The hotel has recently undergone a major renovation and it came out great. The room my fiance and I stayed in was referred to by the staff as a 'sleep and soak' room, which I was unfamiliar with but would highly recommend! It is definitely a room to stay... more

The hotel is right in the middle of everything in Union Square and seems like it might not be so nice from the outside. However, inside, it is nicely remodeled and appointed. Our room had a comfy bead, cushy carpets, and modern Pottery Barn type furniture. There was also a flat screen TV and an iPod dock with speakers. The... more

We booked their kid suite for our stay (first week of May) but since the room's renovation wasn't completed yet when we got there, they upgraded us to the Hammett suite which was like their best room! (Natalie is the best! Very friendly, very accomodating -- she should be promoted!) The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside (the... more

As a boutique hotel, Hotel Union Square is basically an oooooold building with renovated hotel rooms in it. Hotel Union Square has gone to great lengths to add modern amenities to an otherwise outdated building such as flatscreen tv's, ipod docks, and cool-looking furniture. Room 606 was on the small side and the floor was sagging. Not sure what that... more

My fiance and I stayed over the unseasonably hot April 12-13 weekend. It was my third time staying at the hotel in 8 years; the first time for him. I would never stay anywhere else in San Francisco (unless it's really hot- no air conditioning in this hotel because of the age of the building... usually not a problem given... more

We weren't sure what to expect as this was our first time in San Francisco. The hotel lobby doesn't look a lot like the website picture (a lot smaller than it appeared) so our first impressions were a little disappointing. However it got better from then on. Our room on the 5th floor was plenty big enough for 4 of... more
