The first thing to say is that this place is hellish expensive, so it has a lot to live up to. I've stayed in perfectly decent places costing a quarter of the price. However, my darling enjoys luxury on holiday, so we went for it. It's in a great location, it's a nice building, the room has loads of what... more

My wife and I spent 3 nights here to celebrate our 20th anniversary and the staff went out of their way to make it as enjoyable as possible. The inn itself is beautifully restored, and it was such a pleasant place to stay. Very convenient to the sights as well as to MGH and T stops. Not a place for... more

We stayed in the Julia Ward Howe room which was decorated with beautiful antiques and a marble fireplace. A large flat screen TV and spa tub were lovely modern ameneties added to... more

I stayed at the CSI at the end of January for business. It was such a lovely place to come home at the end of the day. Warm, inviting, comfortable. The staff and the Innkeeper were so accommodating and friendly - arranged for breakfast before they normally served it to meet our schedules, etc. The rooms were clean and luxurious... more

Just spent a couple of nights in this most romantic of B & B's. Imagine having a working effortless log fire every evening, selection of DVD's, videos and CD's for your personal enjoyment, a giant four poster bed, a deep bubbling spa and every quality utensil, silver cutlery and linen napkins at your disposal. This combined with a fresh fruit... more

The inn is gorgeous and is located on Beacon Hill! It is within walking distance to major sights. There are numerous restaurants and local markets very close to the Inn. You can go ice skating on the Frog Pond that is nearby. Room was clean and spacious with a working fireplace. Breakfast was delicious ! The only con is limited... more

My partner and I stayed at the Charles Street Inn over Labor Day weekend. It was incredibly romantic, the staff couldn't have been any kinder, and the location was perfect. For a romantic getaway, this simply couldn't get any better! We read the reviews on tripadvisor and made a choice based on the raves, in spite of the few complaints.... more

We loved staying at this B & B in Boston. First of all, it is located in Beacon Hill, a wonderful part of Boston and close to everything within walking distance. The staff is great and the place is just beautiful. Accomodations are outstanding and breakfast is brought to your room each morning. Staying here made our whole vacation so... more

My adult daughter and I stayed in two different rooms in nov. of 2006. olmstead room had crusted and stained coverlet on bed, hair under pillow and tv with constant buzzing noise. Self-cleaning jetted tub did not work. Faucet leaked all over vanity and onto floor in bath causing an accident. We were told that the inn knew of the... more
