Located next to Hwy 5, the hotel is convenient to access La Jolla, Torrey Pines Reserve, beaches and is close to the Whole Foods, Peets Coffee, etc. Guests also have access to the Sporting Club for about 10$ a visit (the prices on Hyatt concierge website are outdated) which is an independent high-end gym as well as free pool. We stayed for 3 night in two rooms in the end of April Good alternative to San Diego Downtown hotels - 10 minutes to historic La Jolla and 15 minutes to Gaslamp District Check-in was in seconds. We had no problem to get two non-smoking rooms next to each other. Rooms were nice and clean, bed - comfortable. Excatly what... more

I was here for a conference, and was not able to take advantage of all of the facilities. Nice rooms as you would expect of a Hyatt, and wonderful housekeeping. Probably the best thing about this hotel was the very attentive and helpful staff. I was not able to use the fitness facilites, but the word from others in the... more

Everything was wonderful about our stay. The rooms and grounds are kept in immaculate condition and look even better than the pictures. I stayed with my 12 year old for spring break. The service is outstanding, and very friendly. No snooty attitudes here! In fact, by the end of the stay many of the staff knew us by name. I... more

I stayed for a 2 day conference in October of last year. The room I stayed in was clean and nicely appointed. It took me a while to find a parking spot on the street but did find it both nights I was there. It's kind of isolated from restaurants (other than the ones in the same compound as Hyatt).... more

Everything was clean and nice looking. Got a AAA discount so it wasn't too expensive. Cleanest & most upscale part of San Diego...great Beach near by and really good restaurants - Even one of the ones on property was suprisingly very good. Definitely recomend it and will go again next time I go to San Diego. more

Reading the reviews on this site of the 4-Star hotels in the area prompted me to use Hotwire to book the room at (what I felt) was a great rate for what we received. Opted for the valet parking ($24) since we were only there for one night, but probably would have resorted to the street parking (free) if it... more

My wife and I have stayed here a few times since 2006 (most recently Jan 2008). It's a new hotel with easy access to the 5 Freeway. Although not on the beach, it's only about 10 min from the coast in non-rush-hour traffic. VERY close to UCSD, SD VA hospital. Shopping close to hotel. Clean, large rooms. Very comfortable beds.... more

I syated at the La Jolla Hyatt for four nights as part of a conference and found it to s superior hotel. Check in was swift and the bell staff very courteous in showing me my room. Desk staff and concierge were friendly and helpful, especially with dinner reservations in downtown La Jolla. My room was on the 14th floor,... more
