Everything was clean and nice looking. Got a AAA discount so it wasn't too expensive. Cleanest & most upscale part of San Diego...great Beach near by and really good restaurants - Even one of the ones on property was suprisingly very good. Definitely recomend it and will go again next time I go to San Diego. more

Reading the reviews on this site of the 4-Star hotels in the area prompted me to use Hotwire to book the room at (what I felt) was a great rate for what we received. Opted for the valet parking ($24) since we were only there for one night, but probably would have resorted to the street parking (free) if it... more

My wife and I have stayed here a few times since 2006 (most recently Jan 2008). It's a new hotel with easy access to the 5 Freeway. Although not on the beach, it's only about 10 min from the coast in non-rush-hour traffic. VERY close to UCSD, SD VA hospital. Shopping close to hotel. Clean, large rooms. Very comfortable beds.... more

I syated at the La Jolla Hyatt for four nights as part of a conference and found it to s superior hotel. Check in was swift and the bell staff very courteous in showing me my room. Desk staff and concierge were friendly and helpful, especially with dinner reservations in downtown La Jolla. My room was on the 14th floor,... more

My husband and I just returned from La Jolla spening Christmas week at this hotel. The hotel was not busy at all this particular week. Also, this time of the year the sun does not directly shine on the the pool itself because of the building in front of it. It does, however shine on the chaise lounges surrounding the... more

We arrived the day after Christmas for a two night stay. We had several problems. When we first pulled in the doorman and valets were all standing around as it was very slow period. They were young and unsupervised. We made it clear we did not want valet service as we had valuables in the car and we did not... more

If you have booked a hotel stay thru Priceline, (or another wholesaler) do you ever wonder if you get a room that is "less than"? We recently stayed here, it's a gorgeous hotel, no question about that. The water was out at our apt complex and so at the last minute decided to try Priceline and see what I could... more

First impression is that the hotel is really nice from the outside and the lobby is clean and spacious and you could tell that there were quite a few events going on. When I went to check in, however, the front desk agent asked me if I wanted a smoking or non-smoking room. I asked for a non-smoking room, and... more

This was the second time to stay at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla. Our experience at this hotel was very pleasurable. We visited around the time of all the devasting fires, but the entire time we were there we continued to receive excellent service. The hotel rooms are very clean, spacious, and modern. The front desk staff were helpful and... more
