Lamplighter was exactly what I imagined an American inn to be like, the staff were friendly and helpful with places to eat, ample parking and a lovely pool to cool off in. Room was basic but clean - would recommend for travellers. more

I basically put all my eggs in one basket and booked based on trip advisor reviews. Hotel or should I say motel was VERY average. Nothing great nothing horrible. The Good - Clean rooms - Helpful/friendly staff - Cheap The Bad - Beds are quite uncomfortable - rooms are small - no amenities - very far from beach/good dining -... more

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for your review. It is clearly displayed on TripAdvisor that our hotel class is 2-star (we’re a AAA 2-diamond property), with amenities and prices that reflect that rating. Our rate is a fraction of what you would pay to stay at the #1 or #3 hotels in San Diego. My staff is very good but...

Fabulous. This is a simple and no frills inn (look at the price). But it over delivers in every way. The room was immaculate. Impecibly clean. The staff very friendly and helpful. Choose a room near the back of the property which is delightfuly quiet. Review the location as it is not in the center of San Diego, but if... more

The staff are VERY accomodating and helpful. Any questions we had they had answers. The pool was very comfortable and we were able to take in our 7 month old baby. David was GREAT. We had questions about places to go to plan for a wedding and he was very helpful. The rooms are good size with a kitchen that... more

We just returned from our trip to San Diego. I booked this hotel because it had great reviews and also great prices. It is located a little ways away from the freeway, in a little older part of town. It was close to a couple grocery stores and eating places. While the location was the only thing that I didn't... more

My husband and I stayed here the nights before and after our Carnival cruise to Mexico last week. We chose the hotel because we like Best Western, the reviews were good, and the price was right. Well, the reviews were all correct. The hotel is pretty no-frills, but we felt safe, it was quiet, the hotel was clean, and the... more

We stayed here for 3 nights in mid March. Arriving late from a long transatlantic flight into LAX. Easy to find the hotel and the staff were most welcoming. Great to have some coffee on arrival!! The hotel was busy but just enough parking spaces for all even though they could be tight if you are parked next to one... more

My family stayed at this hotel last week and the reviews are correct. Very clean hotel with a great attitude at the front desk. The breakfast bar is wonderful and it is very easy access to all of the attractions in San Diego! more

We only needed a room for 1 night and after staying in Hampton Inn for 3 straight days I was glad that it was only for 1 night. The hotel is located about 15 minutes from downtown San Diego and the traffic traveled very quickly on the highway. The area that the hotel is in could be called a working... more

Dear Valued Guest, We appreciate you taking the time to review our hotel. We do appreciate feedback from all of our guests. Our hotel is located about 1 mile from San Diego State University and is on a commercial boulevard. San Diego is a big city and it does have some big city problems, that being said, we’ve never had...

This hotel was very good, clean rooms and friendly service. Plus a substantial free breakfast in the morning! The pool was clean and very warm with nice fluffy towels on the sun beds. more
