From the time we arrived to the time we left we could not fault this place!!! We stayed here 2 years ago for new years and are delighted we did. The staff were amazing and the room was cleaned to a high standard every day. the area around the hotel was quiet, safe and clean. I cannot wait to return... more

Hotel was booked via travel agent on there advice. However this hotel is tired and needs updating, I was very unhappy about the building work noise. Kitchen area in room was old and out of date , bathroom just OK. Main bedroom lounge areas were acceptable for a short stay. Staff in general were very helpful. Good central location for... more

We spent 4 nights over the July 4th weekend and we loved the Shelburne. The staff was always helpful, especially Andy at the front desk and David the doorman. The rooms were big and comfortable, although the bathroom was quite small, so we were very pleased. The subway was 4 to 5 blocks away but we thought that distance was... more

like every one else reading the reviews for this hotel , my fiance and my-self , were a bit dubious, but when we arrived on the 27th june 2008 for our 10 night stay, we were more than pleased, yes the hotel is going under a major refurb, but you will be hard pushed to know it , As we... more

If you are staying more than two nights in NYC I would recommend staying in a quaint neighborhood to get the real "feel" of the city. The Shelburne was perfect -- it was fun being among the dog walkers and other locals and we saw sites we would not typically have seen had we stayed around Times Square. It was... more

We like to stay in different neighborhoods when we visit New York City so we chose the Shelburne for location on our most recent visit. As we pulled up to the hotel, we were disappointed to see it surrounded by scaffolding, which indicated it was being renovated. So, during our stay, there was the dust and noise of the work.... more

My husband and I had a great experience at the Shelburne Murray Hill hotel. The rooms were clean, elegant, and spacious. Our room had a very comfortable King bed, with a state of the art flatscreen TV. Our room also came equipped with a brand new kitchen, perfect for a peaceful evening or morning alone. We also loved the artwork... more

Just so you know this Hotel is being renovated at the moment and it looks like it is going to be fabulous. The hotel itself is old in style but so clean it is unbelieveable. The rooms are quite big for New York city and they have small Kitchens and everything. We were there in the middle of a heat... more

We got an UNBELIEVABLE deal on a room at the Shelburne through Hotels.ca...I think I was at the right place at the right time - but only paid $127 a night!! I doubt you will be able to find that deal again as I checked two hours later and it went back up to $300+. Regardless - dollar for dollar... more
