An amazing honeymoonA bit difficult to find! The seafront close by offered great eating places. Close to metro. Rooms airy and clean. Staff friendly and attentive. more
Who hires the front desk staff? They were rude and unaccommodating. I waited 45 minutes to check in and a full hour to check out. There was no assistance provided for transportation. The telephone in the room did not have a front desk extension. The internet was down during my entire stay. How long does it take to fix internet?... more
Great location, close to the subway and one block from the free downtown connector bus. Got a great rate and free upgrade to a full suite. Large suite with a full kitchen. Free computer access and they let us print to the main printer when the other one had issues. Clean, nice, and very good access to downtown attractions. We... more
The hotel looks nice, was clean and met all of the basic needs and even had a good amount of square footage, small fridge (with minibar stuff but you could put leftovers or snacks) and a microwave; however, for a weekend stay, the financial district is too far south. The staff was aloof. They put me in a room right... more
I got a great last minute deal on a room at the Exchange Hotel. I stayed only one night on business, but was very impressed with the customer service, decor, comfort level and amenities provided by the hotel. The room was enormous by NYC standards, and everything was very clean and new looking. The location is convenient to the financial district... more
My daughter and I spent a week in May 2008 at the Exchange Hotel. They had been fully booked the previous night and our room was not ready at 3pm on the day we were to check in. Without my saying anything, the hotel staff offered us an upgrade to a full suite for the week. It was very nice... more
Minimalist shouldn't mean uncomfortable! The furnishings were spartan and cheap (fake wood grained furniture and plastic sheeting for lamp shades--not stylish, just cheap!). Our suitcases had to sit on the floor because there was only one luggage caddy and no other surface to use. The carpet was disgusting--thank heavens they did provide one pair of disposable slippers--they were needed. The... more
I stayed at this hotel Labor Day Weekend 2007 with my boyfriend. We got a really great price on Priceline.com. I thought that the rooms were really great. They has a flat screen tv, really comfy beds and sheets, a huge closet for a hotel, and a really nice bathroom. The rooms were really modern looking. The location in Downtown... more
Stayed there one night on a business trip. Lounge/Restaurant was undergoing renovations so can't judge those... I was upgraded to nice Deluxe exec room with nice skylights and 2 queen beds...very large room by NY standards. Complimentary WiFi is always a strong plus for me... more
My parents, fiancé, and I attempted to stay at the Exchange Hotel this past September. We had booked two rooms through booking.com several days in advance of our stay and our reservation was confirmed by the hotel. When we arrived to check in we were told they had only one standard room available for us and offered to upgrade us... more
