For midtown Philadelphia, this place was cheap (as judged by today's inflated hotel prices, that is). The AAA rate for two persons in a two-bedded room was $134. The room was reasonably clean but with worn carpet and furniture. The shower flow was far less than I find satisfying. Free copies of the Philadelphia Enquirer were available daily. "Self-parking" next... more

My wife and I went to Philadelphia for a 3-night long weekend and I found a great rate for the HIE-Midtown via the Entertainment book. It has a very good location - only a few blocks from the historical sites - and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. That was good because we had to change our room after... more

Enjoyed a pleasant stay while attending a conference. Located mere blocks from the conference center and historic neighborhoods. Plentiful restaurants and bars nearby. Rooms and hallways smelled of new carpet and were very clean. Free continental breakfast was better than expected. I would definitely stay here again. more

Through an organizational affiliation, I got a room for $99. This was a steal! The hotel rooms was FANTASTIC. The bedding grand. The hotel exterior and lobby were not a reflection of the comfort within the room. I really liked it. I have stayed at Hiltons and found the rooms very comparable to the rooms at this holiday inn express.... more

Upon arrival, the front desk staff were extremely unpleasant, no smiles, no introductions. We were charged an additional $10.00 because there were two of us in the room! I have never heard of such a thing! We took the elevator to the 17th floor. Walking down the hallway, there was a strong odor. The hallway looked extremely “tired” and it... more

The hotel was generally decent but its major advantage was its location in Philadelphia. The staff was not rude but neither were they friendly. It was worth the money though. more

I booked this hotel through their own web site. I also received a great deal being a AAA member. My room was clean, smelt great, comfy beds with 4 pillows. ALL the staff were attentive down to the ladies working in the breakfast room. They were so happy and proud of their work. Great value for money when you have... more

This is one of the best hotel rooms I've ever stayed in and was also a good value. The room was very (sparklingly) clean and spacious. The granite countertop on the bathroom sink area was a nice touch. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful both at the front desk and at the breakfast buffet. The free breakfast buffet was... more

Just returned from a conference in Philly and stayed at the HI express. Room was clean (bed, bathroom all well maintained). People were friendly, location is EXCELLENT. There is lots to do and everything is within walking distance. Defininately enjoyed time in Philadelphia and would consider staying at this hotel again. more

I looked for quite some time for an affordable hotel for just one night in Center City, Philly. After trying several others with no vacancy, I wound up at the Holiday Inn Express Midtown. The location is superb...right by the Kimmel Center and great restaurants and bars of the "gayborhood", for those interested (literally a stone's-throw away). The room was... more
