This hotel is located on the river with a beautful paved walk way to the historic district and the popular river street. during the day you can take boat rides to river street not necessary but fun. The staff is very helpful and pleasant. the spa relaxing and staff more than skilled at there jobs. I can not state enough... more
We stayed two nights on points and the hotel was very nice. Lobby was nice if unexciting and the our room was large and in excellent shape. As at most Marriots the bed and linens were top notch. The bathroom and shower were clean and spacious with a nice shower head. Yes, the chlorine smell in the lobby is noticeable... more
The kids and I tagged along with my husband on a quick weekend business trip to Savannah. His meeting was at the Marriott Riverfront so we stayed there, along with all the other conference attendees. On previous trips to Savannah, we have always stayed at B & B's or small inns, so the Marriott was somewhat of a disappointment. Not... more
The hotel is nice and if the rooms were upgraded then I would recommend it. Even though we were on the 8th/top floor concierge level, the room we had was worn. From an old door and loose doorknob for the bathroom to older carpet and dirty windows, the room wasn't up to my usual Marriott experience. The bed and linens... more
My wife and I stayed at the Marriott - Riverfront the first week of June. We stayed the first night on points and enjoyed it enough to stay a 2nd. I read the previous reviews and agree - the pool smell is a little surprising in the lobby and the lobby is a little lacking in the excitement category, but... more
Stayed here on points, could not fault the restaurant and the hotel lacked atmosphere. Very little help for tourists only a woman in the lobby intent on sending everyone on the same trolley tour - which of course we took and did not enjoy. The pool was not very clean and hard to get to. Ate in restaurant 2 nights... more
Wow, there were some negative reviews?! . . . I am not having that experience at all (writing on my 2nd of 3rd nites here on a business conference trip). . At the end of Bay St. and River Walk 1/2 mile from the absolute center of the historic district (not too close; not too far) sits a typical, comfortable,... more
My wife and I visited Savannah for the weekend and booked the Marriott Riverfront hotel. The staff was good at check-in but I was very disappointed with the facilities and location of the hotel. I am a Platinum Honored Guest member and we got upgraded to a suite. For a hotel chain that is supposed to be non smoking, the... more
Outdoor pool was closed. Indoor pool was not heated. We asked that they heat the indoor pool, it never warmed up. Our room smelled like my grandmother's house. The courtyard was enjoyable. The location was nice. more
