My wife and i stayed here for a cousins wedding and as it was our first big holiday since our wedding we thought we'd splash out on a nice romantic and expensive place to stay, unfotunately we were a bit disappointed. Positives for the hotel are that the location is good, the architecture of the building is exceptionable and the... more

Based on the generally favorable reviews here and a 4 star AAA rating I chose to stay here (instead of at the Hilton, the event hotel) for two nights recently. I think the website makes the property seem better than it actually is. The positives: good, quiet location (but requires crossing three busy streets without a light to get downtown);... more

We stayed at this inn for a weekend in May when we attended our son's graduation from Univ. of Wisconsin. It was our sixth stay there so we obviously like the inn very much. We stayed in the Lillie Langtry Room on the second floor facing the front. There are many touches that we like such as the robes, the... more

We stayed at this wonderful Inn on our honeymoon. We stayed in the craftsman suite on the ground floor, with French doors that open onto a patio. The room also had a wonderful fireplace and cozy bathroom complete with fabulous soft bathrobes! The location is awesome; it is walking distance to everything, including L'etoile Restaurant that is also a must!... more

When I first read the other reviews of the Mansion Hill Inn, I was shocked to see one that wasn't a rave. Well, I found out why when I stayed there in Dec. 2004. I have been a guest at this beautiful old B & B 3 or more times before and always had a wonderful stay. This time I... more

The Mansion Hill Inn is a great little gem! I stay there every time I go to Madison. Almost every one of the 11 rooms is gorgeous; my least favorite is probably the Oriental Suite, which is a nice enough room, but a little dark with dormered ceilings. The other rooms are quite beautiful (the website doesn't really do them... more

My wife and I stayed here on our wedding night in June 2002 and were quite disappointed. We had reserved a truly lovely (I can probably count on one hand the times I've used that word in the past decade) second floor room with very high ceilings, tall windows, a pretty little balcony and a beautiful marble bathroom including hot... more

If you are looking for a first-class bed and breakfast with old world charm and grace, this is the place! Each room in this old mansion has a different theme and feel, but each is done in excellent taste and style with good period antique furnishings and fixtures, and wonderfully appointed baths. My wife and I chose the Craftsman Room,... more
