I won't return until the Cornstalk has some extremely needed cleaning and updating. The outside looks great, but the housekeeper can only do some much with what she's been given on the inside. The bed was comfortable enough if you like soft mattresses, the sheets need to be replaced they're so old and dingy looking I smelled them to see if they... more

This is a great place to stay in the Quarter. We had a small room, but were only there to sleep and shower. The manager was very helpful in giving us suggestions and directions. It's close to everything, but quiet. more

The Cornstalk provided our group a wonderful home base for our trip. If you are looking for spa-like space or a high-end chain hotel, this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a fun, comfortable, special, safe, friendly, home-like stay for a good price in a great location - the Cornstalk is perfect. We had... more

Affordable, great location, would highly recommend. My bachlorette party stayed at the Cornstalk and it was wonderful. A small, elegant, historic hotel but the bathrooms have been recently renovated (new tubs and showers) so all the girls were happy. Friendly and helpful staff made us very comfortable. Homey feeling. The hotel and the French Quarter ... so much fun ! more

First, it is important to say that the French Quarter is in good shape, even cleaner than it was before Katrina. I know there are reports of exploding crime in New Orleans but I was never afraid during my stay in the Quarter even though I am a female traveling alone. Now about the Cornstalk—it is a historical home that... more

We were very disappointed with our stay. The location is perfect but the Cornstalk is in need of major updating. We are all for the quaintness of the building, etc. but our room was very dirty. The bathroom shower did not even have a shower head, the only outlet in the bathroom was on a light fixture which we could... more

It was a great hotel. Centrally located in the heart of the french quarter(walking distance to all great shops, restaurants and the infamous bourbon street), helpful staff and great rates. Each room is unique- beautifully decorated with antique furniture and accents. I would stay there again next time I am in New Orleans more

This hotel had both pros and cons, good and bad doesn't really fit. I can't say that it was bad and I can't say it was really good either. The pros: the hotel is centrally located, the price is better than average, the staff is very helpful, the place offered a very relax atmosphere, it was clean (remember your staying... more

My husband and I went to the French Quarter in New Orleans to have a 5 day "gourmet" vacation. We love trying soups, gumbos and bisques! I was a bit apprehensive about going after hurricane Katrina, but the quarter, warehouse and business districts were fine for tourists. We stayed at the Cornstalk Fence Hotel at 915 Royal in the French... more

My teens and I stayed at the Cornstalk Hotel two years ago and all of us loved it. Our room with two queen beds was wonderfully over the top in decor - opulent, but almost in bad taste, we giggled as we entered it. It was big with a very high ceiling, the bath was small and the water pressure... more
