I found this Guest House by searching just about every possible accommodation in the French Quarter. Their website gives excellent descriptions of the rooms and pictures of most of them. We had booked Room #21, but when we got there, a production company was filming in our room! They gave us another room (at no cost) for the first night... more

What a treat! Our bridge group visited New Orleans to celebrate a big birthday in the group. We took a chance booking the Lafitte Guest House because no one had recommended it. After calling to inquire, the house manager sold me on it. We could not have been happier. The location was wonderful and the rooms were grand. But the... more

My husband and I stayed at Lafitte Guest House twice before Katrina, and we were crushed when we found out that it had closed following the storm. When we heard that new owners had renovated and reopened the property, we couldn't wait to come back. We just returned from New Orleans, and we enjoyed Lafitte as much as ever, if... more

We stayed two nights in room 21 with a balcony. If you love to Photograph history this is the spot. You might also find some interesting things in your pictures like orbs witch are thought to be spirits in the ghost hunting field. Room 21 is full of spirits!! We think we caught one on film more

We were excited to stay at Lafitte Guest House after reading reviews, but when plans changed and we had to cancel our room, we had an extremely hard time getting our deposit back. After close to a month of calling and talking to various employees, we finally had to contact our credit card company to pursue the deposit with the... more

I stayed here for one night with a friend and it was the most enjoyable hotel I stayed at on my New Orleans trip. The property is under new ownership (saw some negative reviews) and has been restored, post-katrina, magnificently. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and genuine. The hotel has some parking and there is an elevator. Our room... more

We have been going to New Orleans since I was 18 years old and can't believe we just found this place. First let me say that the House is absolutely beautiful. Full of antiques with nothing but New Orleans charm. My Husband and 3 friends stayed only one night but had a wonderful evening. We stayed in rooms 21 and... more

If you want to live the history and southern culture -stay here. The staff was excellent. The service was excellent. The rooms - maybe a little eclectic in some areas - were old and big and perfect. We've never been treated better, more courteously and with more warmth - and we've stayed in a lot of the Quarter hotels. What... more

We have been to New Orleans several times and have always stayed at the same place. This time we thought we would try somewhere different, so we booked a stay at the Lafitte Guest House. Well, within a few mintutes of our chcking in, I was on the phone looking for another hotel. Our room smelled musty and there were... more

Just returned from a weekend with 3 girlfriends. We stayed in room #40, which is dubbed the penthouse. The room was very spacious with 2 double beds and a sleeper sofa, along with a kitchenette with table, sink and refrigerator. The breakfast was quite tasty. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The air condiitoning in the room was not... more
