I stayed at the hotel a few weekends ago while in town to attend my granddaughter's graduation from Loyola. The hotel is the quintessential bargain for college parents and is in the greatest location - not quite in the french quarter and not too far uptown. The hotel is located right on the trolley line (with RTA passes available at... more

I checked-in this hotel on a Wednesday, and stayed until Saturday morning as I couldn't get out of the hotel as told by the website I booked with had spoken with the nasty, UNPROFESSIONAL manager. When I arrived, a lady was storming out the door past me. The red flag should've gone off...The nasty manager said to the desk clerk,... more

I had the experience to visit New Orleans since the devastation of 2005, and I must say that my recent trip was wonderful as a result of my accommodations. I experience the hospitality of Ms Liydia and Elvina the weekend, that was awesome. The location of the hotel and the many inexpensive eateries nearby made the stay that more pleasant.... more

I stayed here during Jazz Fest and was expecting something not so nice but I was pleasantly surprised. We arrived in town very early and they let us check in to our room early and gave us garage parking spot for the whole weekend. The room was very clean and staff was very nice. I was very pleased w/ my... more

I booked this hotel on their website with no problems. The location is great, mid-between the French Quarter and the Garden District, both really accessible from the St. Charles street car stop right across the street. It's $1.25 each way for all streetcars, but you can get an all day pass at the desk for $3, or go down to... more

The Avenue Garden Hotel is a nice, small hotel in the Garden District in New Orleans. Located near a bunch of good (and relatively inexpensive) restaurants, it is in a good neighborhood, with easy access to a trolley that takes you to the French Quarter. We had a sizable group (8 people) and the staff bent over backwards to make... more

Property is renovated old structure. The style of the hotel give lots of old city feel with most modern conveniences. Was there same weekend as a youth group, so they were a bit noisy, but that can happen in any hotel. trolly stop is right across the street and takes you all the way to canal and st. charles. more

I'm really picky about what hotels I book, so after extensive searching I settled on the Avenue Garden Hotel. I usually book through discount travel sites, but it was cheaper in this case to book directly from the hotel's website. We'd booked a Tues-Thurs nights and then changed it to Wed-Fri nights. Since we did this, the hotel called and... more

We just got back from staying in New Orleans at the Avenue Garden Hotel. We were very impressed with the hotel. With paying such a cheap rate ($59/night), I was a little nervous about what we'd get because 'you get what you pay for'. We arrived in town around 11 a.m. and didn't figure our room would be ready, but... more

I am a business traveler who has a set budget. I try to find a a great hotel for a great price so I can spend my money eating New Orleans' wonderful cuisine. This was my first trip to the Avenue Garden Hotel and my stay was nothing short of wonderful. I arrived earlier than the 3:00 p.m. check in... more
