The welcome that we received every time we returned to reception was almost embarrassing in it's friendliness. There wasn't anything too small that the staff couldn't help you with. For some unknown reason our room was upgraded to a suite which in turn was one of the nicest rooms I have stayed in all the years of travelling and staying... more

A simple quiz to judge how much you might, or might not, like Le Richelieu: You walk into a turquoise bathroom (even the toilet is turquoise), and see that, while being clean and very well-maintained, the main fixtures appear to be nearly 40 years old. Do you think (A) "Wow, how cool!" or (B) "How dated and awful!" If your... more

Very friendly staff ... free parking ... nice courtyard and all in the French Quarter. Paul and Linda McCartney stayed here in the 70s which was the selling point for us (that and the parking) and we were surprised at how nice the hotel was for the low price and the staff is barnone the friendliest and most accomodating you... more

This is such a cool, romantic, serene hotel with huge rooms, huge closets, and bathrooms that seem to be from the late forties. I was attending a convention at the Hilton Riverside, and it was easy to take the riverside streetcar right up there. Nice to have a cabstand outside, too. It's a bit of a time machine - a... more

This is a beautiful old hotel. We had a room on the third floor with french doors that opened onto the street. This hotel had alot of charm, a beautiful bar and small dining room. There is an outdoor swimming pool in the back with loungers and chairs in a pretty setting. When you left the hotel you left the... more

Very good value and such a warm southern welcome! Le Richelieu is in a very good location within the French Quarter, very safe and close to the nicer end of Bourbon Street. There certainly wasnt a problem walking back to the hotel at night. The rooms have a certain 1970s charm - despite being totally renovated after Katrina. The hotel... more

We stayed at Le Richelieu for 4 nights at the end of March. After much research online and after looking at reviews we booked a room here for our stay. We were extremely pleased with our stay. There were several good things about this hotel. First the price is one that allows you to still have money to spend in... more

We stayed here three nights in late March, and enjoyed it so much we came back the next weekend for a couple more nights. We picked this hotel for the free self-parking and the fact that it was located in a quiet section of the french quarter. The only concern I would have is the central ventilation system. You can't... more

What first attracted us to this hotel was the free parking in the Quarter with an on lot attendent, but we ended up falling in love with many more aspects of Le Richelieu. Great safe location, walked home many a night in the AM hours and never felt threaten by our surroundings. The room had exposed brick, we had a... more

We just came back from our first stay at Le Richelieu, and we loved it. We visited with our 19 and 15 year old daughters, and one of their friends. After booking 2 rooms on hotels.com, I contacted the hotel directly just before we left. The staff set us up with two adjoining rooms, each with a balcony. The girls... more
