Charming-looking inn in "Capitol Hill" architectural style, popular with Gay & Lesbian community although quite mixed crowd. Beautiful views from the deck of the Olympic mountains. Wood panelling was lovely; seemed tastefully furnished I thought. Continental breakfast was fine, sometimes with hot scones. Staff was warmly welcoming and helpful (thanks Alyssa). The location was perfect for exploring Seattle, in my... more

My friend Mark and I wanted lodging close to the gay district and this certainly fit the bill. We also wanted seperate beds but this establishment doesn't offer this amenity. They only offer single doubles, queens or king size beds with rates going up accordingly from $98 plus taxes. Although located on a busy street room 208 faced the next... more

We stayed at the Gaslight Inn in October. The room itself was fine, although I would have preferred the bathroom have a door. The location was great, and the place was clean and well kept up. What soured us was the owner/proprietor. I would not say he was rude so much as abrupt, he treated us more like a nuisance... more

We stayed here for three nights after travelling for over 24 hours. The inn keeper was very accomodating in accepting an arrival so late (around midnight) however this had been pre arranged so that we could let ourselves in and find our room on our own. Parking at the Gaslight inn can be a problem in that there is only... more

We had a very uncomfortable experience with the Gaslight Inn. They had confused our arrival date and were very rude to us in their insistence about it. We were told that we were to be charged for the day we were "supposed" to have arrived. When we forwarded the emails from them which stated our actual arrival dates, our follow... more

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5-night stay at the Gaslight. Everything we could want was already provided (from wine opener to daily water bottles to small refrig). Our room (105) had a private bathroom and a large balcony overlooking the city and the Olympic Mts. No AC but an overhead fan; nights cooled off early and very pleasantly. The lovely pool... more

Very, very nice! We stayed four nights and explored Seattle. The Craftsman home was extremely well taken care of and everything was squeaky clean. All public areas were very comfortable. Walking distance to restaurants (Monsoon was great!), interesting neighborhoods, and Volunteer Park (do this!). We chose not to rent a car due to traffic/parking issues. The bus system worked great... more

We came to Seattle the week of Memorial Day and knew that we wanted to stay in a decent bed and breakfast. Gaslight Inn seemed to fit the bill. The person whom I spoke with when making and confirming the reservation was extremely nice, the groundskeeper who showed us the inn when we arrived was also very nice and informed,... more

I'm also confused by previous reviews that called the staff unfriendly. Maybe I lucked out. My host felt more like an old friend than a staff member. He was friendly, inviting, courteous, and was smooth with introductions between guests at breakfast. I've only stayed in 5 or 6 B&B's before but this to me was the most welcoming one yet.... more
