The most wonderful place I have stayed at. Wonderful, charming old house, beautifully decorated with very comfortable beds! The hosts are so gracious and welcoming that you feel as though you're friends staying for a visit. The breakfasts are dangerously good, but the good news is that a walk by the river or up in the nearby hills will help... more

Barbara & Michael were there to welcome us to their Inn upon our arrival. We were given a guided tour of their comfortable and immaculately clean Inn and were made to feel like old friends from the very start. Each room has personal touches that give it a welcoming atmosphere. The morning brought wafting smells of the delicious breakfast that... more

May you be lucky enough to stay here! Every room is exquisitely decorated, refined, and sparkling clean. The breakfasts made by innkeepers Barbara and Michael are divine--we dined on creme brulee french toast and apple souffle pancakes. Much is organic and energy conscious, but not a luxury is spared. Little extras all about--nibblies, magazines, tea, etc. Our whole family took... more

Michael the Vermonter was standing in the driveway, deliberating the possibilities. Michael the New Yorker, was just pulling up in his car, admiring the view. Michael offered to help Michael. You see, the tractor belonging to the owner of the Applebutter Inn managed to fall into the ditch. "Moments like this makes me feel like a true Vermonter" declared Michael... more

We spent 2 wonderful nights at the Applebutter Inn and can't wait to go back again. We had booked our stay 2 months prior for our anniversary getaway and 2 days before we were to arrive my husband go called away on an overnight business trip. I called the Inn and told of our dilema and Barbara and Michael just... more

It is more than the warmth and beauty of the house itself, which was built in 1854 in the Federal style, will all of the commensurate charm and allure of a building so fine that it is listed on the National Historic Registry. If fireplaces and wide board pine floors evoke a sense of home and welcome, the Applebutter Inn... more

Our stay at the Applebutter Inn was absolutely wonderful. Barbara and Michael, the innkeepers, are warm and welcoming, and have created a home away from home. The breakfasts were creative and delicious, and the surroundings were magical. We can't wait to return! more

This fabulous Inn is a Treasure and a true find. We just returned from celebrating our 10th anniversary and it could not have been more special due to the Applebutter Inn and its owners Michael and Barbara. The Inn is warm and so cozy and the Inn Keepers are amazingly helpful in suggesting nearby activities and restaurants. The "Gourmet Breakfast"... more

This is a clean and comfortable country Inn---away from the noise an in-town Inn may have, and full of personalized hospitality thanks to two consciencious innkeepers. It's easy to find. There are many attractions and restaurants in the area, info to which Michael and Barbara keep readily at hand for guests. They went WAY out of their way to accomodate... more

This is an inn of considerable charm and of breakfasts of extraordinary quality. If you are in the Woodstock area of Vermont then this place must be considered first. If there were to be any issues then its location, some 4 or 5 miles from the nearest restaurant, might be of concern but this is a small matter when considering... more
