We were very pleasantly surprised by our stay at Te Weheka Inn. It is very tastefully decorated in muted earth tones and quality fixtures, and is immaculately clean. The bed is extremely comfortable, and bed-linens good quality and not at all chintzy (our worst nightmare...). Te Weheka is a well equiped hotel in the village of Fox. It has the advantage of being a small hotel and from our room we had good views from the balcony. One nice touch was the wine and cheese laid on by the manager who was happy to mingle with his guests which is unusual in my experience. more

All I can say is "wow". Since Fox glacier is a small town I was expecting a motel... but instead the room finishes are top notch---definetly the best hotel stay in our 2 wks in New Zealand!
